What have you done to your rig today?

Drove the TJ 1.5 miles with no brakes to my parents so dad could help me bleed the brakes yesterday. Red Loctite on the steering bolt for the 1 ton steering this morning and drove it to church. Probably need to recheck all my bolts since this simple project spanned a few months....but nothing fell off and made it back home.

Pulled the rear brakes off the new to me JK to see why they were dragging....hopefully get it tagged this week, so me and @jcramsey can ride to the GTG and not stop 6 times with a top speed of 53 mph like last year . But for some reason I still kinda want to drive the TJ down 😅

Are those TJ flares on the JK?

Picked up a new AGM battery for my Jeep today. Eli's Jeep needed one, so it got the old one.

Because @Noel said I’d lose all my lightning I installed these high perf boot covers (3 bowls of rice from Amazon). I think I saw an extra squirrel climb under the hood. (Probably to chew on them ) new O2 sensor and hit it with the timing light. Gotta get the spreader bar installed for the shoulder harnesses and Friday I roll for the Vet Ride! I just hope it survives long enough for the G2G.
If you can see that little glisten it’s from the twinkle in my eye knowing I’m gonna send this turd to the moon!

You're gonna stop the gas and move the earth under your wheels now; are you gonna put a "FEAR THIS" or is that gonna push it to unreliable levels of power?

Pulled the #8 plug and wire, sure enough I fouled them. Cleaned up the plug and the spark plug wire boot, reinstalled and fired the truck up. It coughed and popped a little but cleared up! I had a slight panic attack since the kroil that dripped on the manifolds started heating up and smoking. Gonna be fun to balance out soaking the manifold bolts and not setting the truck on fire.

Called a couple shops about a new TC, also did some research on "reprogramming" kits and some valvebody mods. Probably going to order a harness and some solenoids if I'm going to drop the pan.
I am worried about letting the genie out of the bottle trying to fix this. I don't have the money for a rebuild right now but I need to get this thing back to where I can drive and tow without issues.
Hopefully a fluid flush via the trans cooler lines won't result in finding out if this 80E is a glitter factory. Fluid looks pretty nasty but it's original to my knowledge.

What kind are they? And nice $5,000 JK! great deal!

No clue on who makes them. I haven't found any pictures of anything like them online.

Thanks! Definitely was a good deal for what's there....haven't bought to many vehicles that I could actually drive home 2 hours and then get my wife's approval when she finally sees it 😆

Was wondering who beat me to it…. No bbq for you lol 😂

Right haha you got a good jeep! What all needs to be fixed on it?

Don't flush it. Just drop the pan, fill it up, fire it up for a minute, dump it again, change the filter, and fill it back up. That'll get 80% of the old fluid out.

It's not THAT dirty. I can still read the dipstick through it.

Also, if it had the forbidden glitter in it, you'd already be seeing it on the dipstick. That's not to say there's not some clutch material in the pan though.

What's it doing anyway?

The rear brakes were dragging a little on the way home and maybe a wheel speed sensor need replaced but overall I believe it's pretty tight.

Interior was line-x so it's missing carpet and trim pieces. Rear seat was replaced with Mastercraft buckets so I need to find a factory bench so i can use a carseat. It does have the nose dive stance in the front...just little nit picky stuff like that hopefully.

Damn dude you got a steal on that rig!

The TC is locking and unlocking like it's slipping, which causes timing to advance and retard resulting in the truck misfiring. Truthfully the misfire has been an ongoing problem recently. It's always had a little shudder to it but here in the past few years it's gotten worse. After 30 or 45 minutes of driving 45-50 MPH it does it, and it's minutes for it to occur if you're driving 60 or 70; here's a log I pulled a while back via HPTuners when I was troubleshooting it; I've been pulling my hair out for some time trying to figure it out.
Tcc lock is misfire.PNG

I'm also getting a PO751 code; which is a Transmission Shift Solenoid A code? That code has always been in truck since I owned it but never triggered a DTC light, I can only see it on a fancy scanner or my HPTuners scanner

Rebuilt the front drive shaft in the titan. Apparently almost 700 miles on gravel roads at 60mph wasn't good for the double cardan joint. Thank God for jody the dike at orileys couldn't comprehend what I was needing since the computer said my truck didn't have that part....

Harness bar is in. Is it great? No. Will it maybe work? Probably. Am I worried about it? Also, no. I mean, it’s just uwharrie right?!View attachment 427693
Better than my night….. had my crawler hauler in a bad spot, then packed junk trucks around it. Took a hour to wiggle it out since the skid steer is down waiting for pushrods. Popped a tire. Had to replace fuel line in jeep. Still got a bit to go lol 😂
