What have you done to your rig today?

Hopefully with enough heavy duty upholstery cleaners, passes with shop vac, the pressure washer, and carpet cleaner with some liberal application of elbow grease will bring it back?
This is one place where I vote buy brand new since you have the interior pulled apart already. It is amazing how much smell is trapped in vehicle carpet, and how much better the interior will look with fluffy new pile. Buy good stuff with mass backing and you will not regret it. A standard kit is less than $200, the "good stuff" is less than $300.

Transmission is in and cooler moved. Will do a URE shake down to verify no issues, then on to the 3 link conversion.

I have been making a list of everything that I need to fix on the wheeler once it cools down a bit. Amazing how these still cost money not moving LOL! Ordered up shock oil and some DOM to shorten up my air bumps because hitting them constantly on the way to the mall is annoying.

Put in some work last night on my K2500; I guess at this point it's a "mild restoration" since I'm in this deep
Started gutting the interior to deep clean, paint, and put in sound deadening

I didn't really clean this thing up before I parked it; I think October 2025 was the last time I drove it? Yuck
Pulled out the battery tray to repaint it before I slam the charging system back together.
It's pretty nasty looking and as I was doing that I started thinking about pulling the inner fenders out to free up some room, there's a broken exhaust bolt on the passenger side and since I've got headers to install the extra room would be nice

I'll probably wait until I start working on the suspension to do all that since I'd be right at it anyway
Deep cleaning the interior and getting everything freshened up shouldn't take too long, but the carpet is what is going to be a challenge.

Had a dude tell me he let all his carpets set out in the rain a couple time before he cleaned them......i was gonna try it on my Dodge carpet that smelled like wet dog but decided to just buy vynil replacent

Here's one place I was recommended, and while not terrible price wise most of my projects are on a shoe string budget these days
StockInteriors.com - 88 to 96 Ext. Cab FSC

The factory carpet has a couple of pretty bad spots but I've also seen worse and brought worse back. I may pull it and try my hand at cleaning and if I'm not happy with how it comes out then seek a replacement; my only concern is fitment

A buddy and I did something similar to a flip truck that smelled like a hog pen; left the carpet out on a trailer deck to air out and get rained on before we hit it with with carpet cleaner in a pump sprayer and a Hotsy pressure washer.
It cleaned up pretty decent and the funk was gone; a couple passes with a carpet extractor after putting everything together and aside from the sun fading it didn't look half bad

Ahhh, well

Heading back work from lunch yesterday I wad just crossing the railroad tracks when a lady in a new Tahoe cut the turn tight; so I veered to the right side of the street to avoid a sideswipe
I thought I cleared everything with no issue, but I must've nailed the curb next to the crossing signal

DA of the day:

I have been test driving and was able to get into 1st (unsynchronized) following Dom’s advice (gsndclys) and then to 2nd. But met a hard denial going to 3rd. My first thought was crap, I put this heavy turd together wrong and now I gotta pull everything to rectify this.

I have owned many manual transmissions:
Alfa gtv6 5 speed
Audi tt 6 speed
Porsche 968 6 speed
Golf tdi 6 speed
Tj 4.0 nv3550
Xj 4.0 ax15
F150 300 Mazda 5 speed

All were greater than 4 speeds, all the high gears required pushing the stick right before going back and forth.

So, with the understanding that I needed to push the stick right before going into the high gears I basically was putting the shifter between the reverse and 3/4 shift rail and hitting a wall

Being that the center rail is 3/4 it only needs to go back or forth. Shifts great no issues, wasted 3 days researching what could be the problem before realizing I was the dumbass of the day

So, not so much a da as I thought. Practiced 2-3 in the carport before driving, could only get into 3rd with a double clutch approach, but with tire drag slowing me down that resulted in being too slow to roll through the shift so I had to downshift again.

OpenAI says I probably don’t have full disengagement of the clutch , does that sound right?

I’m going to try a bleed on the slave cylinder, and then I have an adjustable pivot on the fork, but I’m smack dab in the middle of manufacturer recommendation, maybe incompatible pressure plate or something like that

Edit: tested master and slave 3/4”+ of travel at both (hard to measure) next step is to try adjusting the pivot ball

Almost finished pulling the interior on my K2500

I've been deep cleaning and refreshing interior pieces as I've gone; I've still got a couple that need a little bit of repair and freshened up but before everything goes back in I'll be throwing in sound deadening and thermal padding; unfortunately I found a few pinholes and not so great rust spots that'll need to be addressed but I'm still chugging along.
