What have you done to your rig today?

Finished 63 spring swap. Didn’t have time for the front SaS swap so don’t bash my reverse Carolina squat lol. I think it turned out good for the first time ever trying this. I know the tire will still stuff up into the bed. But it’s way better than before

Bastard packs on the mobile welding trailer has to count. I mean it's been off road way more then any play four wheel drive I've owned in a while.:lol:

Yesterday running Daniel I sheared a 5/8 grade 8 bolt on the front frame side track bar mount. Thanks to @Desertfox1023 and a couple other CTB members we found a smaller bolt to get it up to the top of the mountain onto flat ground and I threw in a spare control arm bolt to get back to the training center. This morning @Jason W. went to tractor supply and found the correct bolt and got it back together then drove back to Asheville with no issues.

Glad it all worked out!
So what was the "proper size" ?

What’s happening with your trac bar? I remember you sheared a bolt in OBX. All of these in double shear? Is your suspension geometry ok?

Came to the conclusion on the control arm bolt that it loosened up and came out. Drivers side lower CA bolt passes through the diff skid also and somehow came out at the OBX last year. Not sure what caused the track bar bolt to fail because I wasn’t beating on it very hard when it happened. I will be going over the front end geometry again when I lower it about 2” this winter. I trust the geometry due to who did the 3 link for me but it was sitting 2” lower when it was built.

I'm thinking it was a fatigue failure, but I'd be planning to double shear that bolt.

I looked at mine and walked past it. Does that count? It's still on the stands I put it on a few months back. Exactly the same like in my profile pic. (Except that was before the front was on stands too)

Glad I'm not the only one. Mine hasn't moved like my avatar in a solid decade now.

Pretty sure I’ll need to do road speed at the upcoming Veterans Ride in URE. Finally got my Aisin hubs completely tore down and rebuilt with those RCV 4340 gears. Gonna be a welcome change to drive faster than 20 mph. Drive flanges hit the tool box for spares.

The HD finally got some rear brakes to match the front. Powerstop drill/slotted rotors and Z17 ceramic pads. The old stuff was glazed over pretty good and the old ceramic pads were wearing grooves in the crappy parts store rotors. After seating the pads, there is a noticeable difference in braking. I dig it!

Pulled the front driveshaft out. Swapped in a 1410 yoke on both the pinion and the transfer case. Put a new set of plug wires on after I put in a new distributor cap because the other was melted from the HEI.
