I used to be the occasional coffee drinker. I'd drink maybe 5-10 cups per year. I bought my wife a nice coffee maker for Christmas and have been making a pot of coffee almost daily since then and I have really come to enjoy it. I usually put a bit of milk and 2 packets of sugar, but am really interested in drinking my coffee black. This woman once told me that if you drink your coffee black for 30 days, you won't go back to drinking it any other way.
Anyone go from milk/sugar to black? How did you do it and do you really enjoy the taste with nothing but the coffee?
Currently I am rotating between a few coffees: Black Rifle Silencer Smooth, Black Rifle Beserker, Dunkin Original Medium, and Starbucks Pike's Place.

yup, black..
My wife get me all sorta different kind for Xmas.
But im not to fussy and drink Folgers.
I pulled back to a 1/2 pot per day +/-
.
edit:
I started this when in collage, never had sugar or milk.

I do bulletproof coffee for breakfast then black the rest of the day.

Serious question... what’s so good about that stuff. I’ve heard a few people swear by it. Butter and some kind of oil?

It is butter and MCT oil (refined coconut oil). If you do not mind a coconut flavor I used coconut oil. It is a great boost in the morning and usually used by people on a keto diet. It is my breakfast every morning and once a week I fast just drinking three of them all day. I have lost 20 lbs since January on keto. The butter and mct oil promote ketosis which requires a very low carb diet, less than 20g a day and a high fat diet. If you get into ketosis the body burns fat for fuel instead of carbs and the pounds melt away.

And when blended it tastes pretty good, butter is just heavy cream anyway.

 Considering going black myself. I only use a little milk (now almond milk since the wife stopped buying real cow teet juice)

Hence why I was lurking....just had to post that :flipoff2:

Actually because of this thread I ordered some S&D coffee to try (that's always what the local Greek joints tell me they use when I ask about their damn good coffee)

I started on coffee to get away from soda and sweet tea because of all the sugar. Started drinking it black years ago and been doing it since. Can’t drink it any other way.

I use to drink mine with sugar, but started trying to cut down on the ammount of sugar I eat. So switched to black a year or so ago. Never really was a fan of creamer in coffee.

Only way to do it

Every now in then if I don’t have any other option. It has to be good coffe though for me to be able to drink it black.

Black coffee or not at all, switched 10 years ago when I was doing Atkins and never looked back.
Pros:
1.) If there is coffee....you can always have it your way
2.) Makes you cooler then the guy next to you ordering two sugars and low-fat creamer (can you imagine John Wayne or Clint Eastwood drinking tan colored coffee?)

Cons:
1.) You can't make bad or burnt coffee taste good when you drink it black, you will become a bit of a coffee snob, because you are drinking the coffee...not flavoring
2.) When you put irish cream in your coffee.... people know something is up!

Black every day of the week. Occasionally on the weekend if my wife's creamer is on the counter I'll dash a little in there just because, but 99% of the time it's straight black. I like the folgers columbian for everyday coffee.

I started drinking coffee when I went hunting in high school to give me a little extra wake up jolt. A friends dad told me early on that if I ever took up drinking coffee to drink it black. That way where ever I was I could enjoy a cup and not be put out when there was no creamer or sugar. He was in the coast Guard and said that when they were out on the ship the creamer and the regular sodas were the first things to run out and everyone was always bummed that they had nothing to put in their coffee. It made perfect sense to me and I stuck with it.

My best friend is huge into the keto diet. He got into it a few years ago. He’s pretty extreme, to the point he weighs his portions. That diet definitely works though. I watched him go from dad bod to having a 36 pack in no time. He’s been trying to get me to do it, but I’m lazy. It’s a lot of work trying to eat healthy. Although I am down with trying the bullit coffee. I heard it’s gotta be salt free butter or it’ll taste like poo.

Sounds gross, but I’ll try anything once. Thanks. I didn’t know all that. Might look into it.

I usually drink it black, have since I was 15. If there's half-and-half I'll add a splash but usually it's to improve questionable stuff, like gas station coffee. Sugar doesn't add anything to it, in my opinion.

When I drink bulletproof coffee, I use unsalted Kerrygold and MCT oil. It blends better than regular coconut oil. Sometimes I put a raw egg in with the hot coffee and blend it, then add the butter and oil. It's even more delicious that way.

We usually drink medium roast, Harris Teeter HT Traders coffee or Caza Trail k cups from Amazon.
