UPDATE


Mike was moved to Duke yesterday, his condition has been slightly down graded ( slightly ) as there are still some concerns in the area of the brain effected. He is moving around, able to do a few things.

Mike is looking at all the cards, unknown if he is actually reading/comprehending, but this isn't unexpected or unusual. HE DOES seem to be responding well to the cards, so keep them coming ( to the home address )

Val is doing ok, still dealing with a tough situation

At this time they still request that there be no visits as there is still so many things going on around Mike that it easily overwhelms him.

Next week they are talking Acute Rehab, pretty much all the therapy folks ( to many to list ) are going to work him over for awhile, so there won't be much opportunity for day time visits anyway

one week in, and things are better, but there is still a long way to go.

as for him using a laptop, not an option at this time.

I'll update as I know more.

Mike had another good day today. They scaled back his activities until they get his blood thinners straight. He shaved tonight. I tried to get him to leave a goatee. He wasn't having any part of that. were working on language.

I am looking for a ride from NC to NY, if anyone knows of any. Tuesday or Wednesday would be nice. I can get picked up in NY anywhere, just need to get north. Thanks; Erik
 
Mike probably won't have any visitors for the next few weeks. Mike is making some small improvements, but its still going to take some time. This event is not something he'll be able to shake off quickly; but we're optimistic on his recovery knowing that Mike is a fighter. His family appreciates your support.

PM sent! I have a friend heading back up there Tuesday morning if Erik can get to I95. PM has his phone number, he said call him and he can give him a ride. I copied Kevin on the PM as well if anyone has contact with Erik, let him know a ride to NY is available Tuesday morning!

Mike is making more progress. Said a few new words. Even the F-bomb. He is walking better. Doing more math problems. Doing multiplecation problems. Im headed back to ny tonight. Ill be driving mike truck. Ill try to keep everyone updated as best i can. ERIK
