Yagers in your thoughts

lol, knowing Mike like I do I think if he caught wind of that, he'd probably leap from the bed and run naked down the highway dragging his IV pole to keep that from happening :D He's redone his ORI mounts at least six times because they weren't juuuuuust right. He's too particular for that to happen.

and I'm the same way. I knew he was very particuliar and didn't know if it would be a good idea or not...

"Finish it for him" might not be such a good idea... but help him work on it might be an idea. I think Mike just thoroughly enjoys working on projects.

Glad to hear Mike is improving. Continued prayers for him and his family.

Lego Technics

some of the larger kits are cool as hell, and require some thought and skill to assemble.

they are expensive though.

in the beginning something small but possibly challenging may be helpful, keep the juices flowing and possibly help along with the process of recovery. ( dexterity, color/shape recognition, sequence of order, stuff like that ) not to mention, once the original project is completed, it could be morphed into something else ( he couldn't sell it when it was done anyway :D ) and added to a larger project.

what ya'll think ?

I wanted to do this when he was in for his operation year or so ago, but he was up and running too quick to make it happen.

Im in for the legos.... also working on the tranny rebuild(with val and mikes blessing)

I'll gladly order and or go pic up a few kits if ya'll want to contribute. the Mog kit is probably a little more complicated than he needs right now, but the smaller kits are pretty sweet too.

Go with the legos for now, after talking with someone closer to the family I vote we wait on anything big to see how rehab goes. I don't want to do anything that could turn into a sore spot.......

It would be cool if we all could just show up one weekend (or more) and just finish his rig for him and have it ready when he gets better...

On second thought... maybe this is a good idea after all. Mike would hate whatever we did to it, and he'd probably put it up for sale rather than go back and fix what we'd done. And then I could buy it from the fire sale.

Win-win.

nice

Hey guys this is Erik. At the pace he is going. He might be supervising some projects pretty soon.
Mike had a great day today. He walked to the hallway and back with his walker thingy. Mike was already doing things his way, he got out of bed with no help and got into his chair(for that stunt he got a bed alarm)!! His OT and PT went great. Mike is a thinker and those wheels are turning thats for sure. Im sure some hellatious project will come out of all his down time. HELL I don't even help him with his projects, it generally end up with us fighting and bickering(Gaven is 100% right), we prolly could have our own tv show its that bad/funny at times. I usually just drink beer and let mike have at er while I watch and if he lets me hold something Ill do that. We build from two different spectrums, if it calls for 3/16, I want to use 1/8" while Mike wants t use 1/4 unobtainium. It makes for some great philosophical debates while drinking.
The cards are already pouring in, he is reading them to!! His neighbors mowed the lawn.
At this point its just one day at a time!!! I can honestly say Mike has some great friends. Thanks for being there for him.

I'll chip in for some Unobtainium (sp-?). Not sure where you get that, ... been searching the Internet & E-Bay for ya Mikey!! Hang in there Man. You ain't missing anything out here. Air Tools been Silent, Preacher Man sez Repent, Paychecks been Flimsy, Wifey's been _ _ tchY. Now the dern Tax Man's @ the Door. You Chill Out & Get Better. We got an Open Seat waitin' for whenever you're Ready. Till then, whatever you need...we Gotcha Covered.

Super news Erik!
LEt him keep doing as he wants, if I know Mike, he will come out of this teaching the OT and PT new things.
HE is a thinker and he's probably about to bust wanting to do what ever his mind has been thinking about.
Hope he has his lap top, he needs to read all of this!

Thanks for the update, Erik! Give Mike and Val our best!
