A wild series of events, has led to the beginning of Dynamite Design. The last few years you would more than likely find me mowing yards, or sitting in the house sketching random things on paper.

A man named Josh Twomey contacted me, out of the blue a few months ago. He needed some shock tuning done on his rig. We met and did the tune. After this event, Josh basically took it upon himself to fill my garage with more than enough fabrication equipment, to start a business.

PJ at M&M did the suspension work on this rig not long ago. Josh has done a lot of work on it himself. I am going to do some finish work on it, and hopefully prove Josh's faith in me.

I called this thread "Sling Shot" because just a few months ago, all I had to work with was a $100 flux core welder and a grinder. Game on....

Just make sure that pile is ready for Moab

Josh thats exactly what I told him! Come hell or high water I will be at Moab!

Lets talk about why its getting some work done. First I couldn't be more happy with the work that PJ at M&M did for me. He did a lot more than just the suspension and really did a lot more than I though was possible with the pile of crap that I dropped of at his shop. Since I got it from PJ I have driven it to work a few times, drag raced it, mud raced it, shake down at Uwharrie, Flipped it at the flats, had a blast at Harlan, and jumped it at RDB Morris Mountain (a good 8 feet high). I absolutely Love this jeep! As far as the work PJ did and the ability of the Jeep there is nothing I would change. The suspension is flawless, and I don't feel like I am even close to pushing its limits. The flip was due to my stupidity.

What I don't like,

1. I hate the factory dash and all the useless stock wiring from the ABS, airbags and blah blah blah. I want to be able to power wash it and I want it more functional. I also want 1 fuse block and neat/simple wiring.

2. I do not like the drive by wire throttle.

3. Not enough power (factory 6.0 LQ4)

4. I don't have rear seats

5. The fuel cell is in the way of my storage area.

So how do we fix this,

1. I ripped out the entire wire harness and I am going to replace it with a totally new Painless Wiring integrated engine and chassis harness 60617. This will also allow me to put a drive by cable setup in. It is simple and will give me one fuse block and all the wires are labeled. I will also be able to hook my AC up.

2. David's task are to build a new Baller ass cage, a new dash, and a new fuel cell. That way I can have my rear seat in and also have some storage area.

3. I am going to build my LQ4. I am swapping in LQ9 pistons for higher compression, Lingenfelter CNC heads with 64cc chambers, a custom cam, LS7 lifters, pushrods, new true roller chain, high volume oil pump, and a Edelbrock XT intake manifold. I am hoping for 400 to the tires. I plan on Dyno tuning it.

4. I will build my own 4L65e to hold the power. I will be using a Trail Blazer Inline 6 torque converter which should put me at a 2400 to 2800 stall.

That is about it. David has his work cut out for him and something to prove. I figured it was worth a shot to give him a chance and see what he can do out of his own shop.

That was nicest way for me to say, trust me, I know what the dead line is. Why did you have to bring it up on the first post, and create a mess right from the get go?

I don't know why I was expecting you to ask Josh what he wanted to done, or what equipment he brought.

I really tried to avoid this right here.

It was not exactly out of the blue. Josh and I were talking at the CNC4x4 bash and he said he needed shock tuning. I said he needed to contact you, glad it is all working out.

You mentioned shock tuning? Can you tune/fix some radflo air shocks? Got a buddy that didn't know what he was doing, had one side sitting lower than the other. Tried to add air to it like a tire and it dropped instantly. He is trying to find a place to fix it by this weekend to go to the flats. If this is something you can handle please PM me your contact info.

Thanks Ken, that's Awesome.... Yeah, I can fix those shocks if all the parts are still inside of them somewhere.

You got a phone number I can pass along to my buddy? He's a truck driver with a crazy schedule but could probably get it to you one day this week to fix. I'm assuming you need the whole rig and not just the shock? If it isn't too much money he would probably like you to set them both up to be a tad bit more stable. Neither of us know much about air shocks.

Shoot he'd probably give you a call in just a bit if that's ok. You probably know his rig, it used to belong to John Thomas

No problem. Sorry to hi jack

No big deal. I'm not sweating any of this. I guess I just thought this thread was going to be more professional than the rest of the ones I've made, but I'm over it. Now its pretty funny. I reckon the shit talking can begin.

David glad everything is going good for you. Hell I've still got the stain on my carpet from you getting sick before you was 21. When you get to the point and need some help just holla I'm less then a mile away

Here is the Original thread that I started and it also has the work PJ did on it.
