Im sure @CasterTroy will get us some vids up here soon.

Sunday, we got in about 1pm, slu g our shit in the condo, aired down and headed to steel bender, some great crawling, creek crossigs and stunning scenery. Noone broke a thing.

Monday was hells revenge and fins and things, The whole crew had a blast, our first optional obstical was Hells gate, Kenith and I finally talked ourselves into it. we headed donw to the entrance ( qhich was crazy steep) I pulled up to it, watched kenith crawl it qith no problem. keep in mind this ia this steepest climb in moab, I start up into it scared to death. half way up all i can see are my spotters hands and tire lifting off the ground, didnt let up and made it!! Turned around and Josh and Troy were gone, They both made it up, even with troys stock tj wheelbase!!!

Then qe went on through and came upon Devils Hot tub, the deepest in moab with I swear and 80dg wall for an exit. kenith pulled up to it and studied for a while. Him and corey put on all thier harness and helmets, i knew they were going for it. He scratched on it a while and even with sticky tires it wouldnt hook. he put the front tires on it and mashed it. the jeep ahot out of there like a rocket , bounced sideways half way up caught traction and came out!!! DEEZ NUTZ

Then we ran fins and things qith no problem, noone broke all day.

we made it out with no damge

Tuesday, myself , kenith, randy, dana, and Josh attacked Moab Rim. Holy shit it was insane, awesome and would scare anyone!

There were two sections going up that are very dangerous, barely two ft between a steep 6 ft ledge and a 1,000ft drop off. coming down the first one i just about tossed mine, i dumped the clutch and it sat back down. We all except kenith rode a winch cable down the secong one.
Trail damage was one tire, Josh sliced one, we put on the spare and kept rolling

wensday, we all ride poisin spyder ,golden spike, gold bar rim. This is an all day trail that is very intense the whole time and it will wear you out. It is my favorite run out there. we all had a blast, Mike busted a tire on the rental, we swapped in the spare and rolled on.

Chris anialated the waterfall and we imediately heard something popping in the front axle, at the minimum the locker is toast!

Thursday, We all headed to cliffhanger. This trail starts out nasty as hell, many ledges and climbs. The ledge on the cliff is a real mind screw, and will scare the crap out of you. If you are scared of heights Moab rim nor cliffhanger is for you!
At our turn around spot you could hear Josh,s spartan in the rear popping. He made it to allmost out when in was popping so bad it wouldnt even turn the rear tires. At the same time Dana was coming up the second ledge and both upper front control arm brackets sheared completely off. amazingly the axle didnt rotate out of the jeep. We winched them both up and both drove to the trailer on thier own power.

Things I have learned and wisdom to pass on to any future moab visitors!

Go with people you trust qith your life, you may very well break down 16 miles in the middle of nowhere, and i mean Nowhere!!

Completey trust your rig, if it iant in absolutely correct running shape dont go. It will chew you up and spit you out. In other words, Junk will get you killed out there.

It is nothing like east coast, much more technical, much more dangerous, much more fun!
You do not need a huge rig to go tomoab, a well built rig on 35,s can do 90percent of everything.

Drink water, drink water, it is very hot and very dry and will dehydrate you very quickly.

Go with someone who has been before, it helps ALOT

It is worth every penny, I feel like I left a piece of my soul out there.

To my CTB family, you guys are the best in the world. This was the best vacation of mine and Debras lives.

What would you guys say that a reasonable budget would be for a similar trip towing out and back? What kind of accommodations did you guys have?

Cory and I pulled my Jeep out on his truck/trailer/slide in camper.

-$1100 +/- in fuel split
-$300 camping in Moab
-$0 camping/motel out and back. Truck stops are free
-$15+/- fuel in jeep per day so $75 for five days
-$20 avg. Per person for good suppers
-groceries? Hard to figure. Have to eat here or there so it's mute.
-+/- $150 souvenirs. Not necessary
-$75 beer/liquor. Necessary drink it here or there so doesn't matter.
-$5 riding fee for the Sand flats.

All that said I think we spent +/- $1500 a piece with no real breakage and didn't scrimp alot. Cory spent $1000 on new truck tires cause one separated and he just wanted a new set.

The expensive part happens before you head out there. If you spend $500 on your vehicles and think you are ready to go youre probably mistaken. I'm sure you need to spend at least a couple hundred more on them for something. If you go unprepared you can be hurt and at very least waste a lot of precious time there.
I'm sure it can be had cheaper by eating bologna sandwiches and sleeping in your truck at the grocery store if needed but it's all in how bad you want to experience Moab.
We lucked up and didn't have many problems but never travel that far without lots of money on reserve or atleast some high limit credit cards. Just in case you have to have your jeep airlifted out of a ravine or your truck/trailer towed 2000 miles cross country.
I'm sure there is more but other than fuel, accommodations, and breakage it would cost the same as being at home.

" (5) Carlisle HD E rated 225/70/15 tires "
Well, there you go! Some may disagree, but I tried 2 sets of Carlisle 's, D rated, & Radial. Even though mine were the 205s, they kept separating!
After researching All the trailer tire post on here, I bought the 205/75/R15, Maxxis, E rated. MUCH better tire. I learned, for Highway, Don't go cheap on trailer tires!

After pulling my rear 44 cover off noticed my center pin was riding against my ring gear so further inspection resulted in seeing my pinion gear and ring gear were missing some chucks. And while doing a walk around the jeep I noticed I had somehow lost one of my body mount lift pucks and bolt. Didn't hear them fall out there just gone.

@Jason W. loves to say "Hell yea" haha

The man gets off on seeing other people succeed!

Look around, it's truly a rare quality these days....for someone to actually want others to do well....... it's what makes him "special"

Well, that and the helmet he has to wear when he's eating :D:p
