Had a crazy busy day with some not so great food. Sucks after a really good week. Back on the wagon tomorrow.

For me, the biggest thing I got from this thread is it makes me think. For example, yesterday was pretty busy with lots of running around. Around 1 in the afternoon I was getting hungry. Normally I would have shot over to the local hot dog shack and knocked down 2 dogs and an order of fries. So the question for me was, do I have enough time in my day to exercise enough to burn off the calories I’m about to ingest, or do I take the time to prepare and eat a healthier option?

FWIW, I ran into the grocery store across the street from the hot dog shack, picked up some chicken breast, a couple of peppers and an onion. When I got home I cut up one of the chicken breasts and cooked it with some sliced peppers and onions.

But the point is I am now more mindful about what I put in my pie hole and I’m making better, healthier choices. So for that, I thank you @Jody Treadway

So yesterday I had a challenge. My daughter's volleyball season started.
For those who've never been through this sort of man made hell... it started at 8, we had to be on site at 7..it was an hour from home and no idea when it ends.

Normally I'd grab drive thru breakfast with the fam, eat junk during breaks and scarf on whatever lunch was available.

Yesterday I got up an hour earlier and made breakfast at home...I started to bring a lunch with me..but this was their first tourney as a new formed team so they should get knocked out by mid afternoon, I'd be ok.

Famous last words...the scrappy bunch made it all the way to the semis and then won the consolation to finish 3rd out of 48.

But by 7pm I was 14 hours since I'd ate a bite, I'd watched my entire family eat bojangles breakfast, lunch off a taco food truck that looked authentic and delic4ious, a d more snacks of junk than a room full of toddlers deserve. And they stopped at chick fill a for supper. ...I held out, got home almost delirious, tired HANGRY and feeling the effects of a low blood sugar plummet. But I won. Ateasmall, half sized supper and within 30 minutes crashed... at leadt partially from adrenal fatigue.

Woke up this am to another 1lb loss from yesterday...so that felt like a nice reward. Celebrated with 30 or so minutes of fairly intense cardio...And then went and rode my bike for 10 miles to burn off the late supper.

I've got to plan better, somehow... but I survived and advanced.

If my track continues, ill break my 2/1 goal either tomorrow or Tuesday morning.

A bag of mini carrots for $.89 in your pocket for day-snacking can go a long way. :)

That’s my go-to if I’m in a hurry and on the go. Sabra has some mini packs of hummus if you can’t eat them plain.

Also, home made low-sodium jerky helps with protein in a pinch as well.

Power's out here for the foreseeable future...instead of going out for junk food or anything like that, we went for a good hike with the pups
Yesterday while wheeling, we brought healthy snacks so when we were done there would be no reason to go out to eat. Wheeling trips are a trigger for us.
Small victories in an ongoing battle for better health!

Weekends are usually a trip on the struggle bus for me however this weekend went pretty damn well. I coached a great class on Saturday morning and then went to the grocery store to meal prep. The rest of Saturday and most of Sunday was spent in the garage working on the jeep with Sunday afternoon reserved for meal prep. I took a long hard look at all the beer in my garage fridge at multiple points throughout the weekend but settled on water instead. This morning I was 221.6 so I'm not getting a little more strict on my diet and jumping to the next diet template. It cuts my fats, but ups my vegetable servings while keeping my protein the same. The wife is making the jump to her next template as well so this week is going to be interesting.

I may have some good answers...but I still need to read them myself.
305.0 this morning down from 318.2 on 12/27.

By schedule today is the 6th day. The re-feed. But Im delaying it because I want faster results.

Weekly update
Goal 1(no beer) - Check
Goal 2 (stay on diet) - Check
Goal 3 (move fatass) - Fail
Goal 4 (See a Dr.) - Fail

So Im either a HOF baseball player with my .500 or a half ass....but for now the weight is still falling

Weekly check-in
Stating Weight -318.2
Last Week - 305.0
This week - 301.6

Interestingly Saw a 1lb bump UP today from Sunday AM. Not stressing over it, but keeping an eye on why.
As far as goals a much better week.

Goal 1(no beer) - Check
Goal 2 (stay on diet) - Check
Goal 3 (move fatass) - Check-ish. Only got 1 30 minute cardio session in, but thats better than I had been
Goal 4 (See a Dr.) - Check-ish. Scheduled for this afternoon. Hadnt seen a doctor surprisingly since 2013...they werent accepting new patients, which I now qualify as....but got through it.

So lets see what surprises that holds.

Awesome work Ron!

Don't sweat the 1lb. Depending on my intake and exertion as well as time of day it's not uncommon to see a 1-3 lb fluctuation even within day. I forget the number, but be worried if you are more than like 5% down from one day to the next or after a hard workout/work day. Most likely means you are dehydrated or on the way to being.

Keep up the work!

I’m notorious for being lazy if I don’t have something to work towards (training for a race, etc). I can’t train to meet a specific weight or BMI. It seems like an arbritary number that is usually meaningless. I figure if I focus my goals on being ready for a race, BMI and weight will reasonably fall in place to where I want.

So, bit the bullet and signed up for the 2019 Boston Triathlon July 28. Time to pick up the pace of training with a goal to be ready for the race. We shall see. :D

Today's workout was 5 sets of weighted pull-ups, 4 sets of chin-ups, 4 sets of rows on the machine, and 4 sets of bicep curls on the machine.

Well isn’t much, but I weighed in at 214.4 without my pack and 278.8 wth pack to do a little fishing/ruck hike today. Added 20lb from my 5 mile last week and 1/3 the distance bc I ran out of legal trail to fish on! Going to go for a 4mile with the 60lb ruck hopefully one afternoon this week so I can do a 6 mile 60lb on sat! Def feel the burn on my shoulders my 3 day pack is not the best for these rucks bc my waist band is high and doesn’t take weight off my shoulders, but I overcome and roll on! Pack stayed on the entire time even when casting and did shoulder shrugs while walking! Shit ain’t no joke lol

We continue to eat well and move (even) more. Yesterday we had pretty severe ice storm and lost power. Typically, that would be an excuse to go out to eat. Instead we made soup and I grilled a NY strip on the grille.

We went out to drive around the ice and drove by our nemesis...China Buffet. Not gonna lie, we wanted it, but we can't allow it. So we grabbed a gas station coffee and went for a walk.

The cravings are gone but sometimes old habitual things come up. You just have to push past them and not allow something to control you.

Stressful day at work today. Instead of going out for lunch, I walked the garbage to the dumpster and made my sandwich that I know is on plan. Went for a nice walk after work to talk about the day. The stress went away by doing these things and as importantly, I didn't backslide on being more healthy.

Huge greens salad and the rest of the strip steak for supper ended the day.

I'll weigh in later this week but I'm seeing progress that is not just numbers related.

I turn 41 in two weeks, so tonight
41 burpees
41 incline pushups
41 lunges
41 hand release pushups
41 decline pushups

My arms feel like they don’t work now.

Tonight was an el-repeato of last night, except I added 41 chilly-jacks at the end (jumping jacks while in the plank position.)
