She looks boney

Hell they all do. These ain’t no corn and soy bean feed deer. They mountain deer, probably never been in an ag. Field. They are thin but I’ve got 2 does that I’ve watched for 3 years now and every year they have and raise twins. This year I’m going to put out more minerals and continue feeding through winter.

Munchkin had fun today

Me and my old man moved some stuff today so we could drop a tree. First step was to move the trailer so I can get the skid steer off, and it reminded me of why I don't pull heavy stuff with a half-ton truck.

Then we throw a whole bunch of crap on the trailer to get it out of the way so that I could drop a tree where all the junk was without damaging the very important junk, haha! It also looked like an equipment meet and greet.

And of course the most important part: Tree safely down, right where I wanted it!

That'll heat the house for at least a couple days!

My wife was not happy about me buying a 1999 truck months ago, she wanted me to buy a newer one. I told her a newer truck would cost more than the one I bought. She's complained a few times about me buying some minor things that the truck needed. She's coming around to my truck after riding in it a few times.

We were watching Joe Dirt tonight, this scene came along and I told my wife, in my best JD impression I said "DANG I found MY truck in the auto trader!"
She laughed a lot.

I really did find it in the auto trader online.

4 trees down and more to go. We had a wicked bad storm last night that took out the power for 15 hours. During said storm, one of my shit pines snapped in half and took out my neighbor's power for the third time in roughly a year. At this point I decided to cut'em all Jack. I'll spend tomorrow hauling all this to the road so the city can take it away.

I spent most of today up in Colletsville with my people.

Put 1500lbs of crap in a 1000lb bag.

And unloaded it with a Caldwell County loading dock.

My spotter was not spotting very well.

Then we took the long way from Collettsville to Blowing Rock. The John's River had seen some pretty good flooding over the past week, and I saw several scenes like this:

And of course going this way brought a year to my eye because we rode up Globe Road:

I looked for the old trail entrance, and I was sure I was in the right place, but couldn't see it. I'm guessing they bulldozed and reshaped it. Here's the creek a few hundred yards up the road. Or maybe this was the entrance and I just forgot because it's been over a decade since I last rolled through there.

Apparently I've never been up Globe Road during daylight, so it was pretty cool to see Blowing Rock up on the hill from down at the bottom of the valley.

Finally got to the top, and it was worth it.

The neighbors cows found my pup quite interesting.

The sky was playing nicely with the camera at sunset.

And that concludes my random pics for today! :D

Just kidding, 1 more. Got home around 10pm and decided to move a couple loads of bucked oak under the shed before it rains for the next 4 days. This is about 1/8th of it.
