Relocate the control box under the hood. Keep the controls away from direct exposure to elements.

It’s got Albright contactors in the control box, it will be ok out front. My under hood space is nonexistent with this v6 shoehorned in there and other accessories already.

I just relocated my control box in my 84, I went to a local welding shop and got cable and new ends for cheap. Made a simple mount plate.

That looks great @cgm147 ! I’m hurting for space under the hood with the v6 in there and an arb compressor where your winch control box is located. Overall I’m happy how it turned out with the RockAuto grille.

Who needs a set of inner ifs hub gears cheap?

Also, I have a question about top shift Tcase shifters. Are they all the same 79-95? Asking because I’m currently running the factory chain drive (top shift) case. In the future I want a single 4.7 case. Those don’t come with shifters. If I’m going to buy a shifter it’s going to be a twin stick.

If your plan is to go with a single 4.7 case, I would get the twin sticks for sure. The 2wd low range is nice.

After giving to the truck,

I jumped in to go to work this evening and it would not start. I’m going to try to do some troubleshooting in the morning starting with checking wiring relays and such that are involved with the starter. I’ve read some good ideas from 4crawler.com.

Anyone have suggestions? (88 3VZE)
when I turn the key I get nothing but dash lights dim. All other electrical things worked as they should.

You should probably just cut your losses and sell that thing off to me. $3500 cash right now, as is, no questions.

A little wiggle of the small wire feeding the solenoid coil on the starter and it fired right up. I’ll investigate that connection a little better when I have more time.
