Random pic thread.

Added some nice touches to the shop this week. I've had a water line run down there for probably 6-7 years, but never had anything to connected it to. Finally decided to change that.

It's nice to have, but also kinda weird being able to wash hands and drink water down there.

One of the biggest reasons for the tankless was the very intermittent usage, but also so I could wash equipment and shop stuff with the pressure washer and not be limited by a small tank. Put that to the test today, and worked great at 120deg for nearly 3hrs of tedious washing.

I've never seen a 2valve spigot like that.
Very cool.
I would have been lazy and just connected the washer to the sink head

It's a Prier C-108. We have one up at the garage and it's one of those things that once you get used to it, you wonder why you lived without it. They ain't cheap, but they look nice and are well made. The paint was flaking off of the handles on the one at the house after 10 years in direct sun all day (and the brick masons getting concrete on them when we built the big house 😠), so I used this as an opportunity to swap the new handles onto the one at the "pretty" house so the wife doesn't question why I spent $100 on an outside faucet for the shop :D

So that's what we originally had at the garage. And it was very rare that it got used. Then the originally installed freeze proof hose bib froze and busted :rolleyes: and I had seen this peasant-fancy one at the wife's parents house so I decided to upgrade.
 
For anyone else who enjoys actual data, here's some energy consumption data for an 18Kw tankless heater. Baseline is the shop with a few wall wart transformers and a dehumidifier. Averaging about 12Kwh per day

Looks like the draw is about 1/2Kwh at night when the dehumidifier is not needed, and 2Kwh when its running on a humid summer day. Can you guess what time i was using hot water? :laughing:

Went to the range yesterday morning a little before it opened. I usually bring a bunch of guns and equipment and tools.. not this time. Just threw a few things in the truck and went.

Had the whole place to myself, sun was shining, birds chirping, nice and cool temperature, some christian tunes on the truck radio... very peaceful.

Then the humidity kicked my butt and I left a sweat soaked mess smelling like gun powder and hitting slightly high and to the right because I couldn't adjust the sights.
 
We brought our Spanish exchange student with us for a trek down through NC. Figured a stop at Waffle House was a request cultural experience.
(Sidebar - I think this is the first time I've ever been in one in the morning... Not quite the same atmosphere)
