That thing is long!
That’s a great price, I’d runnit! I also wouldn’t even paint it, but whatever floats your shop.Looking for some thoughts on insulation. When I was building my shop, I got quotes for spray foam ($7500 for just the ceiling) and fiberglass with metal siding for a ceiling ($5000). I was tired of spending money (broke) and decided to stay the course and just put up the double bubble foil backed.
Heat gain isn't terrible, but I'd like a little more help in the ceiling. How terrible would it be to put this ag board (1-1/2 polyiso) and paint it with white latex paint? The Internet says the laytex will adhere to the foam board. Found some for $15/20ft sheet so the price point is right on.

love the flat wood trimI just realized I never posted finished bathroom pics. I still have a little trim paint touch up and paint on the vanity (neither of which I'll likely do).
Homemade septic system is holding up well. Had my son's 6th birthday party here a few weeks back and with a gazillion people using the toilet no turds were floating in the yard.

How high are your garage walls, that "shelf" loft and the roof peak in the center? This place is turning into more of a hangout space than workspace, and im not mad about it

Eaves are 14' precisely for the loft. Loft floor is 9' from shop floor. The horizontal 2x6's on the walls are 3' centered vertically for reference. Im 6'2" and i can walk all the way around on the loft until I get to the closest lower 2x6 on the trusses. @jeepinmatt could walk all the way wall to wall. I could reach up and stick my hand in the exhaust fan if I were so inclined. From floor of loft to roof peak is probably 10'.How high are your garage walls, that "shelf" loft and the roof peak in the center?
This is what I'm thinking I'd like to do when I build mine but unsure how the headroom will work out.
How big is it? Is that 1/4" steel you used? I've been kicking around a wood fired kiln for drying wood. My thoughts where a fire place insert but I want to load wood from out side and have the hot air circulate inside. This reversed could do that right? Or am I crack pot?Finished product. Not fancy but should work. I need a different blower though. This one is on the small size and all but one speed are bad. Got my buddy that does hvac looking me a bigger one.

Fire box is 18w×24hx48L, 1/4" plate. Its longer than most folks would make but I have an unlimited supply of busted pallet boards so I wanted to make sure it was ling enough. How big is it? Basically take a 20' box, container or off a moving truck or ice cream truck. On one end have a fire place insert that blows hot air in the box to heat and dry the wood inside. But I'd want to be able to load wood in the fireplace without letting the heat build up out.Fire box is 18w×24hx48L, 1/4" plate. Not completely following your kiln idea though![]()
You need a tobacco barn, thats literally what they were designed to do. There are hundreds sitting all over the countryside rusting away. You could probably get one with a decent box for $500 or less.Basically take a 20' box, container or off a moving truck or ice cream truck. Yes but people think they are worth a lot more than that...... There were a few on MP but I'm not seeing any now. Most were in the $3K range. You need a tobacco barn, thats literally what they were designed to do. There are hundreds sitting all over the countryside rusting away. Well yeah, those are good ones that work. You just need an old box from the 70s. Ride around and look. I can think of 10 within 5 miles of me that haven't been used in 20yrs that could probably be had for scrap price. Im in the heart of tobacco country so there are more here than anywhere, but SC grows plenty of the golden leaf.Yes but people think they are worth a lot more than that...... Yea I have seen a few between here and Hartsville. Never bothered to look into them. From what I understand they run of propane too. Yes any insulated box would work for me. Just an idea I've been exploring. Your heater made me think of it again.Well yeah, those are good ones that work. You just need an old box from the 70s. Ride around and look. You'd be wayyyy better off to pay a local mill for use of their kiln on occasionBasically take a 20' box, container or off a moving truck or ice cream truck.
