He used the forge to make some custom parts

That is cool!

On that forge - you need to coat that “wool” with a layer of heat resistant cement/ceramic stuff. Supposedly that stuff can be bad to breathe, similar to asbestos. The forge is blowing on it and circulating little pieces for you to breathe in.

It was coated. But probably could use another coat
 

On that rear gate, why not just weld the square tube across the bottom instead of through, with all the cuts and whatnot?

No way to add springs to that gate so to avoid the complexity of the winch, power source, remote, etc at every job?

Just curious, as I would not have the patience for all that!

He did not want a spring. He liked the winch idea and he is stubborn so not worth the argument, I am betting he will change to springs some day :)

The gate has 2 sections. Section 1 is 6feet and section 2 is 3 feet. For a total.of 9 foot ramp, which would be to tall to drive around with
