Well....
Been there, done that! Or at least same end result. Had a small leak at the hot end end of the bowden tube.
#metooI must have a bunch of clogged nozzles!!!
They 3d print the mold to make them.Started an Implant procedure with Dentist recently. Amazing what 3d has expanded into. Sticks a wand in my mouth, scans existing teeth, bone, gums, cavities, etc. Then 3d prints what for all intents and purposes is a jig to align the drill bit perfectly so the implant itself ends up where he wants. Just as amazing is the software that brings all the data together is up on the screen, presses a button and it designs the crown such that if fills the space. He can tweak but wow. I don't think they're at the stage of 3d printing the crown but likely getting close. Oh, the tiniest, coolest, stainless torque wrench I've ever seen to install the implant!
Cool!Bought our current house (2018) from my my mom after my dad passed in 2017. They had just remodeled the kitchen, new dishwasher, a KitchenAid (fairly nice one, all stainless inside/out, but not overly expensive at $650). Well maybe 2020 it messed up, I took it out and gave it to a guy to fix, he replaced the whole bottom assembly at around $200-250. Well about a year ago it messed up again, I took the circulation pump off (the pump wouldn't spin) cleaned it, reinstalled, and it has worked for awhile. Yesterday after having the same issue I took it apart again, noticed the graphite bushings in the circulation pump were worn out BAD. It would let the armature touch the plastic housing, causing it to not be able to spin. I decided I was going to try to make some bushings on the lathe, but didn't have any brass. Then my mom had the genius idea to 3d print some.... There are actually similar bushings on eBay printed out of PETG for $13 shipped. I printed these out of ABS, hopefully this will be the 'fix' for a poor manufacturer design... Actually found the file on thingiverse, but I had to modify it a touch as they were a little loose.
Cool!
ABS is awfully soft for bushings though, it will likely wear out very quickly.
If you find it doesn't last, send me the STL and I'll print in Nylon for ya ;-)
PET is actually harder than ABS.I thought abs would be better that PETG? I can do PETG too. But I may just send you the file and get some nylon ones on the way to store in the drawer.
Where does ASA fit?PET is actually harder than ABS.
PETG vs ABS: Filaments Compared Short & Sweet
When looking at PETG vs ABS, both are common and low-cost materials for functional FDM printing. Read all about how they compare.all3dp.com
Honestly PETG is better than ABS is pretty much every way, even less hazardous when printing. Its just more tricky to get good prints.
Send the STL, I'll drop it in the mail.
Don't expect to make anything of real value I would say. We haven't driven RC crawlers in quite awhile, but if I had bought all those chassis and stuff that I printed, I'd have more than I have in the printer. For stuff like that it's awesome as you can print something, if you don't like it, change it and print another. I don't regret buying one, but like everything, you will use it for awhile then you won't. The dishwasher bushing has gotten me back to wanting to print some stuff. Printed some pencil Lightsaber handles yesterday and today. Printing a small nozzle for my milwaukee vacuum now. What gross dollar value would y’all say you’ve gotten out of your printers? Before maintenance, filament, upgrades etc. Both in practical and play dollars. Trying to justify a price point. (Both to me and my old lady)
