Yesterday after getting back from vacation I finally redid my headliner. Might wrap the dash and redo the door panels here soon.

Bout a lock right bout a week ago and bout a rebuild kit for it. Got that in the other day for a camping trip at ure and ended up breaking something in the frt. I can grab the right stub shaft and wiggle it like a worn Toyota shifter. Just a good excuse for a sas as soon as I find a reasonably price Yota axle. Today I finally changed out my shifter bushings and holyshit what a difference. Went with the ones from low range (cheaper than marlin by alot) and it feels like a new shifter.

Pics from the trip

Got a Dana 44 off a buddy, think about runnin 9 inch rear. That and ruf with either Chevy 52, 56, or 63 springs haven't really decided. Already have a set of 52s and 56s.

It was good doing business with you. I really like the camper shell, it's growing on me lol

The 4runner is bad! I want to see what warlock in action.

Had a lil time tonight to while cleain up the shop to start tearing down an old set of rear springs to build a bastard pack. Plannin on having the hanger on in a couple of weeks and the shackle tubes in along with new spring hanger for the rear. Gettin a set of f150 springs for free from a buddy. Thinkin about runnin the creeper shackle joint rear to try and free up a little flex. Next thing on the list is gettin the axle tore down cleaned and start replacing/adding parts.

looking good man. I built a 4runner (still have it but don't use much since I built the buggy) from stock to what you see in my signature...they're tough machines (just heavy), keep up the good work.

That is one of the issues I want to address is the weight just due to using a dana 44 frt until I can afford a 60.

thats a good lookin runner i think ive seen you somwhere flatts or uhwarrie, you should look into a yota axle for the front though i swear theyre as stong as a 44 stock and if you build them right they can handle big rubber and the yota will be lighter and have better clearence

i stuck with yota axle on mine...chromo rears and longfield front and i've beat the sin out of it and never broke an axle...broke a front locker, two rear universals, twisted the splines on a rear shaft, chewed up a frt and rear set of 5.29's, and broke a transmission gear...oh well....i've now went from a 6000lb beast on 8" axles to a 3300lb buggy on tons....:driver:

everything about a 4runner is heavy...

i beat the sin out of mine on 38tsl (trail tires) with stock rears and chromoly stock replacments 4.10 gears and spartans, i only broke a birf when i put 39.5 rockers on h1s on it... i made it further with the 38s too haha

Oh and plan for axles is 14b rear and 8 lug 44 front. I'm gonna chop out a lot of sheet metal from every where I can. It's gonna be a slow build but hope to have it done before summer so I can beat the ever livin piss out of it, break it, fix it and repeat.

That's the spirit! Build it for summer fun, tear it up for a winter project. Then rinse and repeat.

Anybody have any suggestions for the front spring pack. Should I just rebuild a set and use those or build a bastard 4 or 5 leaf pack?

Started tearin down the donor axle. This thing has seen some abuse. As you can tell.

Got the HoRunner in the shop finally to start tear down. Gonna have a lot of changes over the next few months. Got the frame height set where I want it at bout 25" after looking at it, it's gonna be stupid low but that's what flat belly and skids are for.

Wow I'm curious to see how you get the SAS done with such a low height, you won't be able to use the typical hangers and springs...

Cut out the front crossmember and weld the hanger in its place. That should save you about 3" in the front. If you can find front springs that have the right center pin length on the front and are really long on the back side, you could mount the shakle hanger on top of the frame and use a really long shakle. May have to do some work with the front body mount. Just some ideas. You would also have to rotate the spring perches to get your pinion angle right.

I was thinking about doing that with the front cross member. The springs will be rears up front. After looking at it it's gonna be a challenge but I've seen it done before so I guess it'll be a big learning curve.
