"Bob Ross" My TJ juggy build

Shock hoops thru the hood or you're a fah-CHYNA

They likely will fit under the hood since it's a 14" shock, should know later this week.

Progress from this past week in the Rev Limit shop. Bought some real estate back up front in way of gutting the grill. Made the rad support and decided to tie in the fender rub rails to it. Wasn't really planning on doing it like this but everything just lined up so nicely. So basically this will look like a traditional highline fender that follows the hood line back to the firewall. Going to build shock hoops next and tie it all together to some frame mounted tube sliders. @Chris_Keziah made some sweet plasma cut brackets to mount the bump buckets out from the frame a couple of inches. Also made the bump pads on the axle side and burned them all in.

Should be on its own weight tonight. Have some welding to do and need to move the upper coil over tabs up. had a brain fart and didn't leave enough shock shaft showing at bump. Also got the orbital mocked up in place and the shaft tacked together. Stole the shaft idea from a Motobilt build. Kinda wish I would have done it on mine to save from machining the input shaft on the orbital column.

Few updates. Got to pulling the front apart to replace the axle shaft seals as they were leaking. The ps literally fell out, I'm guessing when we installed the shafts originally it pushed the seal in. I'm not a fan of the two piece seals so we swapped over to the older style 1 piece seals.

Also the upper ball joints were shot. So some BKOR BJ eliminators were in order. There's definitely a learning curve to install. Joe and I learned what not to do and recovered pretty quickly. Tech tip: clean the hell out of the knuckle bore and fit the shoulder bolt to fit with a wheel cylinder hone.

Axle is pretty much ready to paint and reinstall, need to fab up a suck down winch point.

Most of the front tube work is done, still need to do the headlight tubes and the lower fender tubes.

Tube templates for the win.

Little gusset for the shock hoop

These Offroad Anonymous gussets are on point.

Also upgrading from a 2 seater to a 3 seater in the very likely event another rig goes down and an ass needs a seat. Obviously quite a bit of tube work to do. Got it mostly figured out last night, not looking forward to the halo notches.

Make sure to weld the insert top and bottom, I've seen a pic of a BJE knocked out from the bottom up.

I don't see how it could get knocked out with as tight of a press fit that was. May be a little late to weld the bottom on this one but will on the next ones. I'll check and see if I can get it with the knuckle installed.

You'll have to pull the knuckle. Takes 10mn.
U-Joint cap got pushed out and literally knocked out the insert while breaking the weld/casting at the top.
I'll text you pics.

Another reason why I love my RCVs. (I know, not everyone has the budget).

I'd prefer to have return customers, hard to have that happen if they're dead. This isn't the election.

But dead people do vote! Oh crap I turned this thread political.... carry on
