Well sanded and wet sanded the entire side and hand washed it, so it is now ready for tape and some paint..

was going to try to paint today but the wind never stopped blowing so could not spray today

thats all fine till they decide to help you make the avalanche better and wet sand it for you.

former neighbor kid ( 6yo) decided to wash his moms car.......... with SOS pads.......

she wasn't sure if she should be mad or just laugh her ass off, but the car was clean

well today started out great...

I went and got the rear 6 tires mounted ( which took almost 5hrs ) but hey they are done

then I took bus home and prepped it for paint and then got it all painted so the painting is done :) but 2hrs after I got done painting a damn rain storm came so now we wait till tomorrow to see if the paint was dry enough :(

Hope it holds up - looks great. Can't remember, are you leaving the roof white? Does anybody make a heat-reflective paint in black?

Like the pics of the kids too. At that age, mine would have been fighting over who got to stand higher on the ladder... :)

well paint is all messed up :(

I know need to try to wet sand it and then buff it and hopefully get all the water spots out..

I am happy it is all one color but pissed that it is all messed up

More work, but you'll end up with a nice thick covering of paint after the wet sanding - and the kids will love helping cuz they get to splash everybody with the hose! :)

well since i am adding a new to me generator I need to make a tray for it to sit in

next is to make some feet to bolt it to floor of bay and then work on getting gen installed

Hey, didn't you end up with an Onan like mine?

Word of advice: Don't fawk around with any kind of stand or mount or any of that shit. Just cut a big hole in the floor. At least one hole on the intake side and one hole on the exhaust side. Make them the same dimensions as the openings in the bottom of the case. Then route the exhaust pipe out to the side of the chassis, leaving it about 2" proud. Bolt the generator to the floor either from the underside into the mounting holes, or from the top side using the shipping clips and some lag screws.

I built a big fawking mount kinda like what you're working on. It was a waste of time.

I ended up with a 5500 Onan.. reason I am building a mount is the way my bus floor is I need to raise it up off floor to sit level.. then I will cut holes and route fuel lines, exhaust etc.. but where I am mounting mine the entire side area of bus is expanded metal so should not be an issue with getting air in..

It's more of a heat soak problem. You want to be sure that the intake side is drawing cool air, which means ducting down through the floor regardless.

How far out of level is it? It just needs to be "close".

my floor has a support brace that would lift one side of gen probably 1.5" or more.

so the idea is put gen inside this tray just raise 1.5" or 2" off floor..

Seems the "inlet" under the chassis could potentially introduce any water/vapors while running down the road during inclimate weather? Wet down the paper filter element? Soaking the compartment, causing wiring/electrical issues?

It's how they're designed to be mounted, Dave. The generator can be installed outdoors for all that matters, it just needs an unobstructed supply of cool air.

Okay. Just so long as you're not trying to mount it 6-8" up off the floor or anything.

well thank to Blackbear we got generator installed and working and actually powering bus :) so for the first time we had a/c while driving to vacation.. wow that was so much better then sweating my butt off :)

I also met up with guy that makes onsite windshield covers and had one made for the front window..
