D-6

Out of curiosity, does whatever software you're using allow you to do mass calculations? That tends to lead to those "holy shit" moments, when you realize the design is a major porker, and makes you re-think how things are approached.

Think about this: Make the trailing arm taller, make it narrower, close out the top section, add cutouts for the damper mounts, locally reinforce around those cutouts if needed, add access cutouts for the damper hardware. Closed box sections are much stronger, and much simpler. I'm describing a pretty standard design, because I don't see any reason to re-invent the wheel here.

True but he IS trying to reinvent the wheel

Lol.... Have you looked at any of the fucking model shots? You don't need a take-off to tell you this shit is heavy and inefficient. There's 80ft of tube in the back half, and none of it is supporting the shocks.

Is the guy holding it in the picture the OP?

Dang, even has the "Cat" hat to go with the D6 dozer title.

A look into the future of top tier rock racing and luxury trail riding. After we're done, I'll be able to send your favorite builder a complete suspension package they can finish with their own style chassis.
