Daniel ?

well it used to be fun and challenging. no point to pay to go ride around on a gravel road.

You probably signed up here 20 minutes ago just to make that comment didn't you? Thank you for your input, it was so valuable.

Well there is no point in going to ure anymore. Might as well sell the rig cause I can ride a dirt road at the house no need to drive an hour and a half to pay to drive a dirt road. Only trails worth trying were kodak and Daniel but now that's a nonissue

Geez.... can't even go to lunch without fights breaking out....

@trailhugger IIRC he is talking about whats on the printed maps. I did not look last night.

aaah man,the way I look at it,if they feel UNF isn't worthy of their patronage then so be it.Less traffic for me to worry with holding me up from havin fun. Please please please go out and find a lot somewhere that has a big rock to climb up on or better yet some debris from some building in a pile to play with.I imagine if one was to do a little driving around, numerous "lots" can be found with a challenging trash pile on it.Maybe even go by the local junk yard and snag a car to drive up on. Stop trying to steal the thunder of the guys and gals that work hard to keep these set of "trails" open for the rest of us.

Hey guys probably been 6 years since I've been to ure. But with my Toyota hopefully getting finished soon I can't wait to go again. I work 12hr shifts Fri sat sun night so making it out for a workday on weekend is tough. What can I do to help. Where can I find a schedule for workdays( may be able to take a day off to help).

We can do a workday whenever you want. Too easy to get one set up any day. I am all for any day of the week.

Look at the upcoming events for work days. They are the 3rd sat of every month.

Things to help are as simple as...
Picking up trash
Educating illegal user(off trail and non tread lightly)
Diging a full tail ditch out
Blocking bypasses with downed brush/trees
If you have a group that wants to go during the week we can find a special project at that time. Be sure to stop in and tell Janet at arrow head how many and how hours you worked and what you did(imporant to get us more funding for next season, hours equal $$$$)

You dont have to make a special trip to help the cause, wheel, stop and pick up cans as you ride, log the hours.... win win for everyone. Bigger projects can be gotten by pm ing me of contacting terry with the forest service(I try to help keep up with issues and dont always tell every thing wrong in the forest until after we have already fixed the issues. I get the issues from here and from Friends of URE, the fs, and the outpost as issues are reported)

Krzyabncanuck let's plan a day. Suspect it will will be late summer until my Toyota is done but have no problem going down just to work sometime soon. Thursdays work best for me.

Just let me know. I can easily get ahold of Terry / Chris for a list and we can try and get more people to come out also.

I think we would all have more fun at URE with more stock like rigs or like someone said lets all get together with some
used 31 inch max tires. It would be a lot of fun. If you cant make it don't bypass that is what the winch is for. I think some bypass tickets would get some attention.

I have never seen a ranger in the trail system just on the Gravel roads. Seems like the ranger would be in the forest patrolling, I mean they are called Forest Rangers . The roads would be up to the HP or Sheriff dept. or a secondary importance to the Ranger.

So your saying this was only done to the ledge? I was under the impression the hill climb/rock section was done too. If it wasn't you better start planning, or it will eventually go the route as Kodak.. I would not like to see that happen...

I was under the same impressionimpression that makes me feel better that the upper section was left alone.

So are u saying that picking up trash and stuff we need to report. If this is the case then I should have been reporting for a while. Everytime I go out I go out of my way to pick up any trash or such including limbs in the trail or trash within eye sight of the trail. Usually end up with at least a Wal-Mart bag or two full of stuff

Yes sir.... I will report an hour or two every trip as we do the same thing...

Yeah you need to report those hours to the FS for volunteer hours. The more hour's we have the more funding we have the following year.

Who do we report it to and where at? And I wish I would have known that I probably went at least 10-15 times in the pay two years at least and picked up trash

Or you could even PM Me or Chris the info and i know we can get it to the correct person .

From my understanding from talking a couple of hours ago with some Yota guys that had just gone up Daniel the second ledge was already back to the away it was prior to the last workday. Flint will know for sure as him and Debra just went up it a couple of hours ago. Snappy you might want to chat with him about it. He went up after the meeting today.

Just got back from a last minute random trip there myself. First ledge looks same as last year. Could not get over it all. Buddy made it over and had said second ledge looks great. Didn't see for myself. I did see Debra and Flint, they checked out trail passes and were very nice.

For everyone complaint about filling the ledge in, it's back.

You take any pics Phil? Must have had some hard rain or a bunch of idiots for all of that to wash away already.

That's on 38s. As always pics don't do justice. Everything that must have been filled in was thick soupy mud.

There was heavy ran last night and this morning. Judging by the looks when we pulled up there was plenty of traffic before us. We ended up turning around.

Hopefully it will dry out. If not we will have to go in and lay down woodchips or something to help get some traction.

I don't know much about erosion control and I know it gets expensive quick, but what would be the cost to fill that whole section with fill rock called Rip Rap? It comes in many sizes, some very large (24") and would keep the obstacle interesting and keep the mud down to a minimum. I see a problem getting it up there in the first place. If not it looks like they may need to close for rainy days like beasley or just some trails.
I just don't want to see anymore OHV areas closed because of erosion problems.

I tried in my TJ with 33's and couldn't make the first ledge, simply too muddy, I think if it was dry it would be a piece of cake. We gave up after a few tries so as to not tear it up. We walked up to the second ledge, it still looked to be in pretty good shape. On the way back we ran into the Yota group at the trail head on their way up.
