All of the wide spread power outage has left me argon-less until Monday. Definatly not how I wanted to start this critical weekend, but the show must go on.

Time for the big guns! Piano table and $100 welder doing work! :rockon:

That'll never work.
That left speaker will send reverb right into the drivers nuts....no one wnats reverb in the nuts..

ANd the pics are obviously posteed in reverse order guys...look at the top three and noticce the dash is in

I like how the passenger speaker aims out of the rig so all the people he passes will here his tunes :)
 
Well, I thought I was going to work tonight, but they sent me home cause I was late again.... o_O

I should probably stop turning away fab projects, cause they're gonna fire my ass, like that movie "Waiting. lol

Got a Tacoma project that we need to get in here. I guess everyone can consider us open for business. I will try to put up a list somewhere of things we can accomplish.
 
Something tells me that people forget, this is Dynamite Design's first build.... Haha. Looks like you started using a hole saw and after a few of those, you said ef' that and used a plasma instead. That is what I always do. Hole saws take FOREVER and usually get dull after just a few holes. I do like the grinder trick with the drill attached to the metal plugs.

I really like the fuel cell and tool storage bin. That is really nice and well thought out. I'm not loving the spaceship dash but to each his own. Nice fab skills and the cage is looking better as you add to it though. I'll be watching to see if I stand corrected when it's all done. Are you worried about all of the welding and spliced notches throughout the roll cage tube work? Seems like even though you're bracing it, you're adding a lot of stress risers throughout the layout of the cage?! I know bent tube isn't as strong as straight tube but it would bend instead of break versus where it would split apart at the welded seams of your notches. I know you said you were designing around function and safety, just seems like a lot of extra work to have question marks like that about the strength of it. Any info on this would help clear up your thought process maybe. I doubt I'm the only one scratching my head about this. I saw in one pic, you don't have front fenders on it. Are you building those for it also?

The hole saw was actually a perfect way to mark the line I wanted to see. It was quick, precise, and started a pilot hole for a larger drill bit. FTW.... If I drilled through with the hole saw, the material would actually be unusable with the tolerances that are being used in this project. My $60 table drill press was at max capacity anyway haha

The way I see it is, the cage will come together as a whole. Every part of the cage will work together with the rest of it.
If something on this cage breaks, it's because the the
whole thing broke off at all 6 points.
