EDC what's yours and why?

Everybody will have their own opinions and some will even discredit other's opinion so here is mine. Look for a compact in your preferred caliber that is striker fired double action only with no manual safety. It will be safer than other popular options and you will not accidentally shoot anyone that you don't intend to shoot. I like my lcp, cw9 and g43.

heres my EDC boys

A roll of quarters in your pocket too, smart.

My current edc carry is the benchmade sopc dagger if it’s good enough for one of the friendliest yet deadliest wheelers I’ve ever met it’s good enough for you. Blew my mind when I seen Jeff yurk in this training video.

I've always wanted a benchmade, they make the best of the best imo... I'm stuck on CRKT now I love their knives I had a m60 softb tanto I carried in the woods but lost it last year, had it since i was in scouts!

G43 here also, currently looking at a Bersa BPCC9 and a sig P365 (soon as one comes into the shop).

If anyone is looking into a 9mm They need to check out the Bersa and Sig. I love my G43 but the capacity of the other 2 is greater than my G and I will be switching to one or the other soon.

Appreciate the input folks! The shield and 26 weren't even on my radar when I started looking! Glad to see the forum I'm on is so heavily armed and knowledgeable!!

If you like the shield in 9 or 45, go pick up a Taurus PT111 or PT145. I have the PT111. I was sold on the shield and had one on layaway, then I picked up a PT11 and walked out with it.

I liked the shield before I bought my g43, I will have to check out the Taurus.

I rotate between Shield 9, Airweight 638 and Bodyguard 380 depending on where I"m going and what I'm wearing. Massad Ayoob might disagree with my approach at times, but hey, it works for me. I have a lot of friends who are glock fans, but the ergonomics just don't work for me. A lot of people like to harp on the interchangeability of the glock mags for each caliber. It is certainly true, but some don't realize or otherwise forget that the M&P full size mags are interchangeable with the M&P compact, for each respective caliber.

I liked the shield but the g43 was a little shorter which is why I went with it. I understand the mag point but it doesn't make any weight in my decision as I wouldn't carry a small pistol with a long fullsize mag in it. I do agree though the shield is a fine weapon and I wouldn't hesitate to buy one.

I've found that the G43 is most edc pistol for 2017 lol had 3 diff shop owners all carrying the 43!! I've not looked into any Taurus pistols I had a bad experience with a Taurus 9mm years ago and havnt really checked them out since then but that was 10 years ago I'm sure a lots changed!!

It hasn't. They still jam like BVD boyz2men (90s hip hop)
Shot one lately? Bought mine in 2017 and Im over 1000 rounds in with no jams. Everyone that I have talked to that has one loves it and has had no or only a couple jams. If you dont own and regularly shoot something, dont knock it. Thats why youll never hear me bashing something. A lot has changed with taurus over the last 5-10 years. Get online and lookup some reviews or go look on TFF and other forums, or better yet, go shoot one!

And FWIW, if ya wanna shoot mine, pm me and Id be happy to let you test it out. BYOA of course.

Ever been president? A cop? Then you have no right to criticize them with that logic.

Yes, in fact I HAVE shot Taurus' in the last year. New ones. One of my best friends is a sold out fanboy who also gets MAJOR butthurt when I tell him I don't like em
Oh, incidentally, he had to have his 45 professionally smithed because that bastard jammed a bullet in the barrel so hard no tools We had would free it

XDs9 is what I carry most of the time. Also known to carry a XDm 40C and a 1911 depending on winter wear.

I love the ergonomics of the 1911 and the Springfields. I never got comfortable with the grips on the Glock.

Ever notice that I dont criticize those people? Thats exactly why I dont.

Im not butthurt over it, carry what you like, just carry safely. Sounds like your buddy had a squib load. How is that any pistols fault? I saw a glock that had a squib load and the idiot pulled the trigger again. The gun blew up in his hand. Does that mean glocks are junk? Thats your logic.

Im a fan of whatever works best and fits my needs. My taurus does that. As does my ruger, my savage, my remington, and every other gun I have.

How does MY experience and opinion effect YOU
You're taking this way too seriously as if I personally offended you. The next step is you'll bring out the old phrase "straw man argument "and spent hours trying to debunk what is essentially just my opinion. You don't wanna be that guy do you? we already have one of those here

:D

The director of engineering for taurus is a former engineer for FNH. Hes been there about 2 years. His name is dustin sroufe. The new spectrum .380 is the first gun he engineered for them. He is trying to bring the manufacturing up to par. Expect the new taurus models to be better than previous ones. We have been friends for 20+ years. He is the reason i'm a FNH fan.

Doesnt affect me. Like I said, carry what ya like. Im just pointing out the fact that the company aint what it used to be and the new pistols are a good option for a gun to bet your life on. Your opinion is just like mine, and we all know what they equate to . However, if you wanna get together and shoot to compare pistols, I could always use a new shooting buddy :sniper::usa::sniper::usa::sniper::usa:

I try not to pass judgement on products even if bad experiences take HF for example, bc honestly some companies do attempt to make a better quality item after failure and they notice a problem! I found a indoor range that'll rent guns so I'm planning on making a trip there to shoot multiple pistols in feb As of now I'll be spending as much on a gun rental as I do buying one hahaha! But I've got 5 in mind I'm really set on 4 were mentioned in this thread that I hadn't considered! So even tho I have to decide which suits me personally y'all def have helped me move in the right direction and I appreciate it more than ya know bc I'm my mind set this is my family's protection first and fore most! I remember when all my buddies started buying compacts and I still had full frame 1911 I swore I'd never "need" one but it's a day and age when ppl panic when they see someone with a pistol on their hip or seeing profilectheoufh clothes and the idiots I've encountered that see your pistol when you don't want and then ask to see it and shit lol I just look at them in disbelief usually and ask if they have had weapons training of any kind, then politely say no my weapons not for show and tell an have a nice day! The best tho is when in gun stores and these younger generation feel the need to pull out their loaded pistol to show off to the clerk... smdh In defense of Taurus I've also seen multiple Springfield .45s with jamming issues and shield45 Springfield and s&w makes good shit as everyone knows I feel like most of it's due to mag spring or ammunition used tho I know the Taurus I've shot would not eject low quality rounds at all but that was in 2003 also...
