I figured that it was a caster up front and you steer via rear brakes.
Nah..I'm too fat to be up frontI figured that it was a caster up front and you steer via rear brakes.
Well if we're doing all that, lets flip the splitter to the bottom and then you can just swing over the log and never even pick it up.Now I want this just to add remote control via an Arduino and a cell phone.
A guy I know built a wood splitter for his skid steer this way....never gets out of the cab to split wood, grabs the bucket & then drops the wood at his shop in a pile!Well if we're doing all that, lets flip the splitter to the bottom and then you can just swing over the log and never even pick it up.
I have a beam with a wedge on it for this exact purpose. Just needs a cylinder and some hoses. I just can't decide if I'd rather put it on the skid steer or the excavator. Skid steer is easier to change and mount, but the excavator will probably be more effective.A guy I know built a wood splitter for his skid steer this way....never gets out of the cab to split wood, grabs the bucket & then drops the wood at his shop in a pile!
What is your budget? And do you want a lay down or up right?I want a wood splitter but with the prices on FB I'd be better off to go get a new one and pay it off in 24 months for 0%.
I could ask the guy if he'd be willing to sell it if you want? Its located in Concord.I have a beam with a wedge on it for this exact purpose. Just needs a cylinder and some hoses. I need another about as bad as the one I already have, but im a sucker for a good deal especially on something that saves me time and effort.I could ask the guy if he'd be willing to sell it if you want? Its located in Concord.
Not sure atm. Been watching marketplace. Be cool to find an older one that the Ford 8n could power it all the 3 point ones don’t have a hydraulic pump. What is your budget? And do you want a lay down or up right?
Built by Ralph Haner and a buddy back in the day, in Florida. If I remember right, the vin number was a combination of their birthdays. Ralph had a Little Red Express that someone posted on here a few years ago. He was a Navy man, welder and fabricator extraordinaire. Rest in peace, Ralph. That's pretty damn cool. That now belongs to @Blue CJ 's dad. Bluecj and I bought the lil red express. Along with a couple trailer loads of parts. We spent hours in Ralph's shop talking to him. Really cool old guy. Bluecjs dad also has his 93 2500 cummins. The pie wagon is back running and stored inside. If anyone wants contact info lmk

When I first saw it I was like meh. Knowing this history makes it much more desirable in my book. Knowing it was built in the 70's and is still around is pretty impressive.Iirc Ralph told us it took them 1972 and 73 to build it.
So was I but people don't seem so impressed.Knowing it was built in the 70's and is still around is pretty impressive.
Damn, I really miss Ralph. Many days spent in his shop drinking High Life. Hell of a fabricator and friend. If I had the money to burn, I'd buy that for the memories. For the ad, it wasn't bought from his widow. Shirley died before Ralph.
I agree it was bought from her daughter and SIL. Yes Harry bought the cummins as well. Had it been 4x4 I would have bought it. It was unbelievable how much high life collectibles he had. Beer "stuff" everywhere.Damn, I really miss Ralph. Many days spent in his shop drinking High Life. Hell of a fabricator and friend. If I had the money to burn, I'd buy that for the memories. It looks like his first gen cummins in the background of the pics too.
