Future shop build advice

Bringing this back up and beating this horse again. Put in a for a quote from r&r today for an insulated 40x50, 14ft eaves w/50 ft lean to. 2 - 12x12 doors on 40ft side and a walk door and 9x10 on the lean to side. When they contact me back I'm going to ask about wet sets, there was nowhere on website to request them. @braxton357 is there still a nc4x4 discount šŸ˜
Got the quote back Friday. $42,xxx šŸ˜•. The base package for the building before adding in doors, lean-to, soffit, etc was 28ish. The quote never mentioned the insulation so I'm not sure it's even in there. I did go for a slightly higher pitch and 2' higher walls than "standard", but idk how much those changed the price. Bit higher than I was hoping for but honestly, I can't say that I have much for a frame of reference. Gonna quote builders discount next and see where it stacks up. BDC shows $17,xxx for their bare bones, enclosed, uninsulated 40x60.

BDC is going to be cheaper than R&R, however you need to get into the details to see where the differences are. What gauge is the roof tin? What gauge is the exterior tin?I bet R&R uses better quality wood for the posts and purlins.

I've been researching, looking, planning, etc for my shop build for over a year and a half.

If I decide to go with BDC trusses, I'm planning to get the 6x6 posts from another source to get the absolute best posts that I can. The purlins I would consider getting from BDC but I would go and plan to personally dig through and pick out each board to avoid any crap pieces.

Both are "40yr tin" for enclosed buildings, walls and roof. Not sure what gauge that equates to

40 year is the paint Iā€™m pretty sure. Iā€™d bet itā€™s all 29 gauge, and 26 gauge is a several thousand dollar upcharge. (that probably isnā€™t worth it)

Yeah, I did more digging last night and both of them are 29ga.

Same package, including 3 insulated/wind rated garage doors is 30 on the nose from BDC. $12,000 difference will go along ways on the concrete!

My buddy in Charleston is getting ready to put up a 60x80 building at his house. I'd be curious to know what the final cost will be.

So are those prices kit delivered to you or installed on your pad or something else?
Materials only. I assume FOB at the warehouse it's purchased from. I haven't asked about any delivery options yet.

I think there is a pretty significant difference in BDC trusses and R&Rs

Now whether that difference is worth it - personal decision

Care to elaborate? I can find the engineered drawings for BDC but not r&r.

Man I cant find my notes from a year ago.
I remember the conclusion I drew was that the R&R trusses were stronger but in a no snow area like mine didnt justify the add

Are they both using the metal truss with wood poles?
