It's been a rumor all across the nation, I couldn't believe the gas lines when I came home from work today.

i'll be extremely surprised if it goes up more than 10-15 cents. this country isn't having the oil shortage people think.

We may not be, unfortunately the oil companies think we are!

PSshhhhh.... there isnt an oil shortage at all. There is some demand that wasnt there int he past with more nations industrializing and that causes investors to speculate on oil futures which drives our prices higher and higher. The more they speculate the more oil sales for and the more it sales for the more they speculate. Its a viscious cycle but watch for a Dot-com-esqu bust int he future. Just my predictions as a youngin but i think its plausable.

I picked up a couple thousand gallons to store in my Y2K command bunker next to all the food and water I still have stockpiled. I sure am glad I never sold those 30 generators I bought back in '99. :flipoff2:

Yeah for that price I'd bike home to High Point from Raleigh!!

Seriously though... i manage to pay my bills, pay for gas, have money for my truck, and still eb able to go out and do things i want to working for Old Navy. I dont see why there is so much complaining about gas prices. SUck it up and get used to not being spoiled.

You shouldnt have made such a big deal about Cheney having connections to Saudi Oil and this wouldnt have happened. :flipoff2:

I am gonna have rent the Mad Max movies again so I can see into the future and be better prepared for what is sure to follow. :p

there is always one tough guy in the crowd :flipoff2:

i mght have to convince metto to let me buy his 100 dollar car. :flipoff2:

More diesels for sale...will convert for additional $$$$...Although the fuel prices are crazy, we are selling more diesels than I can supply. I bought a wrecked 98 CTD dually and am putting a hood etc.. back on it, there is a line of people trying to buy it now. Everyday I get at least 3 calls from customers wanting us to convert there cars to veggi oil. As for legal issues I'm beggining to wonder, cause we have all sorts of cars running around Greensboro with big stickers on them saying"powered by recycled veggi. oil". I'm riding around with a camper shell on as to not draw attention to my auxillary tank and these people are advertising.

I bet you still have those gas masks from Israel, and the fourteen rolls of sheet plastic and 30 rolls of duct tape too. :flipoff2:

I heard This morning that some Gas Stations have up the price to $2.99 For Regular I spoke with best friend in California and they are expectiing gas to reach 4.00 buy the end of the month. This is Just plain stupid The gas companies are using this hurricane to make more money. I know there would be some impack from this but .50 per gallon or more. this is going to bring things to a screaching halt. It sucks becuase they have us buy the gonads. ARCO can produce gas at a much cheaper price. and they make a lot of money when the price goes up. all of ther oil comes from the USA so their cost is not effected buy the ARAB oil. now this Hurricane may have effected them but not the ARAB oil So Why the Crazy price increase. Something needs to be done!!!

the veggi oil will turn into the same problem the used car oil furnaces did up north. First paid to hall it off, then free, no charged to pick it up... Mean while the price of the units came down enough that anyone with a need has one... Its still more economical but the 'free' aspect isnt as free....

Anyone watch the Trucks show this weekend on how to clean up your veggi oil... Im sure its old news to some, but i found it interesting (and simple...)

Now when they start making it simple(er) to produce your own corn/rap-seed/cotton oil from crops then more people will get in the mix...

Plastic is mostly petro. How do you turn it back into that ??? anyone have any ideas?

?

It's already happening with the veggi oil ,luckly I have friends that own resturants and think its a great idea to fuel with it. What the biproduct companies are offering them isn't much, but it's something. As it is now most everyone I know using it ,still isn't having a problem getting it, heck I can get over 100 gallons a week, I just dont need that much. My business partner and I are researching setting up a co-op type filtering station. As it is now we have aquired a 500 gallon storage tank we will be using. He has logged over 50k on his CTD with no problems. I just don't want fuel prices to dictate my travel/vaction plans.

I am following Caver Dave's example and using up my supply of duct tape to facilitate all my Jeep repairs. :D
