gas

Alot of stations on the north end of High Point are out of gas or just have 93 left(limited quanties of that). Still only 4.05 gal for prem.

I think it's ending. These gouging charges are going to get expensive. I dropped by the store I work at that also happens to sell Exxon fuel last night to see what was going on at closing. ON an average friday we will do 5K or so in sales, last night we did nearly 10.5K in sales. Over 7K of that was fuel only, and we cut off the pumps around 7PM. We were a store that didn't raie prices above 3.99

stations around greenville that left prices under $3.70 are out except for diesel. Most that went up to $3.99 or more still have gas and the traffic there is sparse

One of the closest to me has regular at $3.57, but is asking you to stay with 10 gallons per transaction. Some of the other stations are out, and the two very obviously "foreign" owned stations were at $4.79 this morning with a sign out front that read
"We still has gas":shaking:

Yep....That is the corner I turn at to go home and I just laugh at the cracktards lining up to get in.....to save a few cents a gallon. :shaking:
My wife and I haven't bought gas there in ages....too much trouble. My time is worth a bit more than a $1 saved on a full tank.

The line wasnt nearly as crazy there as I thought it would be....even though the gas was 3.49! (This was around 4 PM yesterday...)

The craziest was the Murphy's station near the new walmart! 3.69 and the line was out to 321

Some stores are out around here. The stores that have gas are from $3.79 - $4.69

If you don't pay your taxes, the IRS shows up and you either pay, or they get theirs one way or the other.
If you don't buy the $4.99 gas, is the big oil man gonna come and make you pay?

how long can you go without buying gas?

i suppose til your gas tank empties.

That Murphy Express at 3:30 was 15 deep in one direction and 25+ in the other. Our nation will never, ever be able to logically think through these panic situations. And the media isn't helping.

I wish i could see this! I would run over that fucking sign on my murray 10 speed! Fuckin theives!

The Neighbors conveinience stores were at 3.65 all day yesterday, and this morning were at 4.19. When none of the other stations raised their prices they went back down to 3.79. Damn crooks! Ill never shop there again, and they are locally owned by Gary York in Surry co. What a peice of shit! I wish i worked at mcdonalds cause when he come through the drive threw i would raise the price of his mcchicken sandwich to 5 dolla! LOL Damn CROOKS!

NYMEX has gasoline for Oct Delivery to the NY Harbor for 2.76.

The Oct price climbed a whopping 17 cents for the day. If the futures traders don't expect a price change in a few weeks - why should Chicken Little be worried.

The only big news was that Colonial Pipeline - that delivers refined products to our state - they are the Greensboro Terminal and Selma Terminal shut down as Ike rolled in. However, they were at full capacity on the 10th.

Here's another interesting tidbit for their FAQ:
5. How fast do products move in the pipeline?

At about three to five miles per hour in mainlines. The greater the volume being transported on a given day, the faster the product moves. It generally takes from 14 to 24 days for a batch to get from Houston, Texas to the New York harbor, with 18.5 days the average time.

So how much fuel do you reckon is in the system?

LOL, 10% ethanol has been in gas a lot longer than you think, and NO, it doesn't effect anything but power and gas mileage, and VERY slight at that.

tell that to people who own yamaha outboard engines like the two $20,000 engines we blew down in beaufort, sc in one tournament due to 10% ethanol breaking down the gas lines and destroying the high particulate gas filters. the reason you never had problems with your vehicle probably has something to do with the fact that vehicles sold in the mid west have different fuel lines so that they wont break down.

I filled up with diesel at the BP in Calvander today... it was $4.19/gal. Thats the cheapest I've seen in a LONG time. Mid-grade and Premium gasoline were more expensive than diesel there too. Regular was about 10 cents cheaper I think.

heard a story about gas yesterday. Local station owner was asked why he changed his gas 2 times in one day. He doesn't buy 4000 gal of gas at a time but it is on consignment. the gas dist. calls him and tells him how much to raise it. the pumps are computer controlled and can tell how much and what time the gas is sold. So, the dist. co sells the gas at 12:00 for one price and sells it at 3:00 for another. He did say that he makes about 10% off of the gas, and most people lie and say only 3-4 cents.

SIGH....

Im not going to get started....

Ive got probably the same engine (225)....and run 10% all the time...ethanol simply isnt that stout....
Dirty gas is another story, but 10% or even 20% blends wont take an engine out in one tank.

Besides if you arent run marine grade sta-bil in every tank along with SF or another conditionr you are wasting fuel anyway....

Just got on MSN's little gas buddy, and the lowest gas in the country is being showed in none other than Black Mountain, at a whopping 2.09 . Can ANYONE verify this? It has to be a screw up.

posted in another thread, but i felt this to be appropriate here (and is the damn truth...)

dang, usually that place is more expensive than the others in the area. I never really bought gas from them but i remember many a day in high school getting some biscuits from them and every now and then getting away with a fake there and picking up some 40's haha
