gas

Sure hope this is over by next week. I am headed to Harlan and would hate to have to camp somewhere on the side of the road!

This evening there was no gas in Marion, even Loves Truck stop was out....WTF?

I went on a gas hunt at 2:00 and the first station I found with gas (KOA Campground on Gold Hill road) would only let you get $20. Then an Exxon on Carowinds Blvd. ran out while I was wating in line. Then someone told me the station at Nations Ford and Arrowood had gas and there I got $30 which filled me up. Now I gotta go to Columbia, SC tomorrow. Hope I can get back.

I drove by three stations tonight that were at 3.55, 3.55 and 3.65 A Wilco, a Sheetz and a Shell. All within a mile of each other. the Shell was out, the Wilco was still pumping and no lines that Sheetz was pumping and spilling out into the streets. but they did have people outside directing tracking to pumps and keeping order of what could have been chaos. it was rather civil and refreshing. I need to write them a letter and thank them It actually kept me from turning around and going up to the Wilco.

I saw that the Flying J in Mebane had droped to $3.55 this morning. One station in Graham that was "out" now has 87 at $3.92

I had to sit in traffic on Independence today for 25 minutes so that cars could sit in the road to buy 4.29 regular.

Not much gas to be found in hickory.
No kidding - of the 5 gas stations I drive by on the way to work, yesterday morning all 5 were out! Yesterday afternoon 1 small station had some, and I paid $4.59/gal to fill up. Yowzer...
although this morning I did notice the 2 bigger stations (Quality & Wilco/Hess) had something, as there were lines backing up into the street in both of them.

On Friday, our supplier at the Mountain Market brought us 500 gallons. We sold what we could over the weekend and then he brought us 500 more gallons on Tuesday. Apparently the terminals are full but only allowing distributors to take X amount of gallons, instead of a normal truckload. I think our distributor got 1700 gallons and he had to divide it up among our store, as well as a couple of others.

oh, FYI, we haven't gone up on our price at all - still $3.77/gal for regular as it has been for the past couple of months it seems. I can't say the same thing for other Uwharrie gas stations as I know they've gone up.

The 2 Hess Stations on 421 heading towards Wilkes in Boone have gas.

Limit 50$ at 3.85 a gallon. My jeep has been on E since Tuesday...its a miracle it made it as far as it did.

This is ridiculous, there is no fuel shortage, so why the hell are local stations out of fuel.
Are they holding on to it anticipating a shortage? Most of the stations are doing what they can and it's not their fault, but what the hell

plenty of diesel available:flipoff2:

Around Alamance, some stations are above 4.90, or somewhat 5.00 off the bat, but recently i seen the prices drop down, walmarts gas pumps are down atleast 3.71, wonder how long it will take until the gas supply is back up, I only saw one tanker rolling around my city and that was it

Greensboro and Selma are not out of gas....they say they are when really it has been put on aalocation for certain customers
Its always like that. If a tanker driver tries to fill his truck then his terminal card will be stripped and lose his job......Every customer has number and beside that number is an amount. They are not out of gas. It would be impossible to run out.
It keeps the man with twenty stations from buying all the gas so the guy with one or two can still get. I drove a gas tanker for two yrs.

Problem is, certain stations tanks are empty because everone around is filling every vehicle gas can and milk jug with fuel.

A friend owns a few stations locally, he told me that he went from 1 tank fill per wek to 3 based solely on demand.

IOW we are our own worst enemy.

But the funny thing is I watched a news story at 12 about people waiting in line for over an hour in charlotte, when a scant 12 miles of highway there was gas aplenty in rock hill

WAKE UP AMERICA>>>THEY ARE NOT LAUGHING WITH YOU

wonder how much gas was wasted by all the cars sitting in line with their engines running no doubt...

Run down to Mebane and fill up. Its $3.55 a gal. and a 1-2 car wait at the pump.

Lake Wylie is out of gas as of yesterday. South Charlotte (Carowinds, Westinghouse, etc) is out. As of now The Gate Station in Ft. Mill has some. This is way out of hand! And I too have seen people filling jugs/cans lawnmowers whatever they can in anticipation of no gas. This isnt going to happen! My friend was pumping gas last week when this started and he was paying $3.99 a gallon. While he was pumping it went to $4.50! I dispatch techs all around the US and in OR and WA they are laughing, they have no problems there and gas is around the same price for 4 different grades. This is like when the weatherman says we are getting snow, everyone around here rushes out and buys all the milk and bread expecting a blizzard and what do we get? A wintery mix that melts off the next day. Some people need to be smacked for giving into the hype. Also, per my work I received an e-mail that told me -

'Governor Easley dated yesterday, he indicated that certain oil companies have agreed to send more gas to NC and that “…additional gas will be available over the next two days.” The supply situation is reported to be due to a number of refineries in Texas shutting down because of Hurricane Ike, which has resulted in the unavailability of about 40% of the gas that normally comes to Charlotte through pipelines.'

....it will be ok people
