"Gonna do it right...maybe!!??" Fuller's new XJ build!!!

It wouldn't be me, it would be a professional welder so he would know all the proper steps..it was thought
It would be cheaper to have someone mill the knuckle and buy a hi steer arm than to have someone professionally weld anything to a cast knuckle.

Alright that idea scratched...

Here's how much the leafs give, especially the uptravel, and yes the front of leafs aren't tied together so the pinion rotates up a little rather than staying level (my yellow xj did real good in the rear like that)

Is it me or does it look like the shock body is contacting the frame and bowing slightly in these pictures?

Pretty sure Matt said he'd mill the knuckle for a case of beer. But
Depend on the misalignment spacers and the heim.

Some of the spacers go inside the heim ball to reduce from 7/8-3/4.

Some fit against the ball and are same size as the ball hole.

I have no idea what you have. But if the misalignment spacers necked down the bolt size, now you have a 3/4 bolt in a 7/8 heim.

If not, carry on.

I think he bought the Barnes kit, which comes with two 7/8"x3/4" heims and two 7/8"x7/8" heims, a pair of reduction spacers and a pair of regular spacers. So, depending on which heims went where, and which spacers went where....

I ran mine with the leaves like that. I love bending leaf springs, it's so much fun!

17 pages and i have not replied til now thanks to you @jeepinmatt.
How does one "professionally" weld carbon steel to cast steel on an offroad rig without problems arising?
What could go wrong?

You tell me. You're the welder. I'm the machinist. Fuller is the mad scientist. Maybe the 3 of us can come up with something...

John, why don't you just link this thing and run coil springs?
I am as soon as I get couple hundred bucks for 8"coils

Depends on length. Say 40-60 for fittings. Say 50-80 for hose...
Sounds like 300 and I could have full hydro steering! (You just drill and tap steering box and no more drag link right if I'm correctly assuming)

full hydro has no steering box, you are describing hydro assist.

That only applies to the norm! I am sure he will ask or try just removing the Pittman......hell I think he should try it!!!!! ....par for the course for fuller!!!

Plus I REALLY want to see the ram mount he builds!!!!!!

Well then, learned something new!
So just power steering pump then

Since double sided rams are pretty much same price, is it not worth going full hydro steer

Me too haha..I will definitely get someone with bigger welder to weld those on when I get to that point!
