"Gonna do it right...maybe!!??" Fuller's new XJ build!!!

And let's see some homemade limit strap ideas..yes I'm a cheap butt with some things we know this already so don't go there :D lol

you could weld on your two tabs with holes in them just like the limit straps use then find a piece of chain with links big enough to put a bolt through then nut bolt and washer to the strap tabs then you can adjust it if you needed also since the tabs are already there you can just put in real limit straps one day if you find a set cheap 20180326_072835.jpg

What lengths would work for you for the limit straps?
I have a small collection I'd sell relatively cheap
Well depending how I make my mounts I can make 20 or more work, probably even 17ish work if I make taller mounts

there any reason I can't cut eye off and weld a bolt to the top of the shock on top in picture to bolt it in factory location

Thought on this

x3.

On the limit straps, you can use chain or steel cable. Both of these make racket going down the trail though.
That's why chain was out of questions, last thing I want is more clanking. The coil springs rub on my centering tubes like I've always done and that's about all I care to deal with when flexing.

Now boys this right here is a dam driveshaft....almost 3/8 wall hooweii that ain't gonna be a weak link lol (hope not)
I call it the "tomahawk"

Is it straight? That 1" wide weave bead at the yoke scares me a bit. Do I also see rosette welds down the length of it?

You sir should keep spare u-joints, yokes and transfer cases handy
Tcases maybe haha, I actually have only broke 2 in 15yrs both times tcase went (didn't care I had spares lol)

The heck is rosette welds lol, plug welded yes both sides but rosette??? English please hehe

Well that's one way to do it.

Well that's one way to do it.
It's beef and gets the job done...till I hit a dang rock and shear off the yoke or bend it...I'm gonna be pissed lol
