"Gonna do it right...maybe!!??" Fuller's new XJ build!!!

I've got a pressure bleeder if you want to try it out.

I know you want it to be something easy, but using a troubleshooting mindset--where in that process does "spongy pedal" equal "bad brake booster"? Your xj master doesn't have a large enough piston/push enough volume for those bigass chevy calipers in the rear or the mediumass dodge calipers in the front vs the old baby jeep ones. Either way I'm sure there is air in the lines. If you pump the brakes do they work or does the pedal still just sink to the floor? And you realize that the master cylinder Jody occasionally-knows-what-he's-talking-about Treadway is suggesting is only $20 at autozone, rite?

As Jeff foxworthy would say...if you spend more money on tiger striping your jeep than stopping it, you might be a South Carolinian.

Alright will keep bleeding. It does stop. I really didn't want to think it was the booster but I guess is everything else going wrong it didn't surprise me LOL

1986 Ford E350 master cylinder will fix the pedal feel.
Been there, done that on 3 different XJ/MJ with samebrake setups.

Just trying to help...

didnt you say that once already?

im gonna need you to say it at least 6 more times before he thinks your being serious.

Need to recommend something completely wrong so then he goes the opposite direction and buys the correct part. Say “Marty79 you need to buy a 1978 Pinto MC. They are super expensive and work horribly” and maybe this approach will work??

Sounds like you have air in the system. I'm still using the stock master/booster with super duty brakes and them bitches are probably double the side of your calipers

Ah yeiiah, just picked up heims for new track bar locally and got some tubing for triangles...oh snap he said triangles..finally get a track bar made and drive this lol

Did I hear "triangles"...?
yessir...like I was told to put triangles in every corner where there is a square so that's what I'm doing next. God Track bar mounted, tomorrow reallign it and Take 3 of test drive lol, should be good as far as steering/track bar issues goes!!!
Are we going to see you out at The SHOP on Saturday?
yeah we're coming to hang out and watch for little while but unfortunately jeep isn't ready. That is def not the place for it's test run since access trail goes one way and it's skinny and IF something did happen, too hard to stop and fix or bring back to camp creating a trail plug ...not what we want!!
It'll be nice to pay little more attention to similar built rigs now to get an idea of what I can expect out of my build with longer and wider stance and such. 11" stretch and 40s is a big step up for me, huge actually lol, so will take little getting used to different handling characteristics ...especially with these wide a** tires lol. Inside of these tires are even with rockers WOW, that's gonna be weird for planting tires that far out.

My first test run with the Jeep will be at The Flats within next 2 weeks. Hope I can get some guys to come out and ride to wheel with and show me a thing or two about some real wheeling...

That's overkill.
ok maybe not every corner but at least put in a few in the main bigger openings. should've clarified that

Real wheeling is all in your head. I wheeled pretty damn hard on 34s.

yeah I guess I meant more like spend some quality time wheeling some good trails without the big crowd and feeling rushed or worried of blocking trails. I've never actually been alone with just a few people and would really love to hang out with some people to get to know some and I'm sure there's quite a bit I can learn from taking time to focus on stuff rather than usually I focus on "John, don't do anything stupid to clog the trail" LOL. Plus I don't think I wanna be all alone wheeling everywhere even with a winch and all, usually not the best idea. Either way, I'm really exited to get some quality time to really test my skills soon with this rig when I can really focus.

I’m sure @hurt4x4 and I would make an appearance if our stuff is together.

Well Test drive 1 = Fail
Test drive 2 = pretty much Fail (new track bar bushing, not good enough but tried it since it was last one left)
Test drive 3 = new track bar from Heim joints. WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE, night and day. not even same ballpark!! WOW I am amazed.
Jeep Drove AMAZING! I guess between the links, coils, shocks and whatever other stuff it rode smoother than I could ever imagine. I know it's just pavement but still on leafs front and rear rode like crap, other rigs i had rode like crap in comparison but this is holy cow, I can't believe how soft a ride and the suspension is so smooth ....Is it because of the type of links and geometry or is it just little bit of everything. Tires were at 22psi and still smooth as silk! Couldn't flex it anywhere which sucks cause I really need to cycle suspension with the weight and everything operational now but nowhere to do it (darn neighborhood living lol).
I guess it's haul it to work for suspension testing or maybe Scott will let me use his articulation ramp so I an finalize this beast!
Well it was finally success to drive it after 3 months of fun and learning and headache though, whew.
Hope to get hydro steer stuff this weekend and get that installed next week!!!

I want to THANK YOU to EVERYONE who has helped me out with this build, it's pretty much complete. Thank you for your input and advise and patience. I know I'm not always easy to deal with on this stuff and am slow to learn but thank you very much for you guys sticking with me and continually pointing me in the right direction. I really don't think I could've done this type of suspension build without you all pushing me and showing me the plans. I apologize to those of you who I have maybe ticked off or frustrated, maybe even seemingly ignored but please know I don't mean to be that way ever. Thanks a lot everyone, have a blessed weekend!

Build a ramp. I know you can throw something together quick from the scrap yard.
I wanna see some flex pics.
Here is a simple one as inspiration.

When your rig won't fit in garage anymore, you know rain is coming but you still got work to do....lol
