Was afraid you'd say that..its in thought for sure..in budget? No lol, finding one ever in my price and geared to match rear? No it would have to match rear 60..why? Cause then add 3:73gears to the already overpriced hp44 ds drop and now we're really above my budget...that right there would be chromolly set almost for my current axle...just a valid point. All your points Jody are VERY valid and true!!! I totally agree!! But, its what I have and as usual, I have more time than money lol, so figured turning the Cs would fix angle issues. Pinion strength not a huge deal as don't plan on ever treating this like the high hp buggies lol so breakage there isn't an issue mostly (plus there everywhere at junk yards lol) and keeping stock gears keeps its stock strength compared to bigger gears. Not arguing with you bud just explaining my end of the situation of practicality and working with what I have to for now. (I'm sure deep down you know me breaking the pinion or outers would be pretty phat chance, shafts yeah but rest of the unit will hold up lest I become completely idiotic with it lol)Remember a few pages ago I mentioned using at least a HP44 due getting better driveline angles?
Remember that?
By using a drivers drop HP diff you will get the following:
Better driveline angles
No need for any exhaust mods
Plenty of room when/if you a 231/300 doubler. You do know how tight the front driveshaft will get to the starter with a pass drop diff and a doubler? I do...
Can reuse NP231 case
More gear strength compared to a low pinion
There's plenty more buddy.
Ditch that garbage front axle and grab a HP front. It'll make your life so much easier with a better final product.
