The Duke Energy Progress ECC has debris blowing around their parking lot. I was on a call with them when some people had to step away to move their cars away from falling shingles.

We've had reports of 99% of New Bern without power. Southport & Brunswick EMC have 100% power loss reported. Duke Energy has 23 Transmission lines & 35 Delivery Points out across NC.
 
We've been in the dark since noon north of fayetteville. I made a lean-to for the generator out of tarps and a swing set frame that I've got anchored pretty good. We're going to fire it up closer to dark to cool down the freezer, run some lights and cook on an electric skillet.

Just had the plastic shutters blow off the house against my 16 f250. Doesn't look to be hurt though. Bradford pear tree broke off in backyard. Hoping the chinaberry tree by the shop holds.

Just mist and wind in Meadows of Dan. It was pretty cool being on top of the mtn and just watching the outer bands start to roll thru.

It’s been breezy in Winston-Salem. Started raining pretty hard about an hour ago. Luckily the beer here is cold tonight as well. You dudes that are closer to the action keep us updated and hold on to your hats!

ETA: just stuck my head out the door and the rain stopped. All quiet on the western front.
 
Nice breeze this morning, & all day. By afternoon, wind was picking up, & at 6 pm news, wind average about 20 with gust of 30. Just This minute, I heard the first Band of storm/wind Rain! Satellite is out. Only 5 minutes Downpour, & it's gone. So is the Wind. First time today it's been calm. So, I got the First Rain band, with Plenty more to come.
Seems New Bern, in particular, has experienced, Emergency Flooding, being caught between two Rivers. And All the Rescues that have the Media have followed. On one hand, I feel Sorry for those in Dire Need, But, I also wonder, Why the fuck, Didn't they evacuate! What the hell have They Been Told, for a Week! But they sit on their ass, & Now yell Help!:mad:
 
We're still good here. Watching Fried Green Tomatoes on my laptop and knocking back some bourbon and hurricane snacks. Made a few rounds on the tractor today and took a buddy to his nearly flooded house in the neighborhood back behind my house to grab some clothes. Had to move my other two trucks and excavator because the water was rising and about to wash out my recently placed driveway culvert.

I'll just take it a day at a time. The GF may have to work tomorrow...she's an insurance agent, go figure! So, I might have to take her to work in the morning.

My GFs dads properties at Cedar Point about 1100 today. Don’t know how much damage Bc the curfew till Sunday. We packed up all his shit in a 26’ uhaul and got his ass out of there before he was up the creek without a paddle. He’s been drinking beer and making fishing rigs with me the last two days. Really need to make some king rigs but I ran out of crimps.


On another hand my own dad is retard and left his boat on his boat lift and just tied it down

7am this morning in Mitchell Creek. Water came up to their back steps during the storm surge, but don’t know how the flooding will affect them. Water was dropping around 1130 today, my step sister made a Facebook post saying they just ain’t got power or internet. No water in the house, but running the fridges on generators and playing spades. He’s a dumbass for staying and my stepmom is not happy.

Number 2 ones? Lol Made 40 ballyhoo rigs with skirts and 15 king rigs today just watching movies and drinking beer. Still need to make a bunch of naked rigs. Her dad is trying to get me hooked up on my first wahoo this year. We know his boats are still good, so might as well use them.

Side note: I’ve learned more about boat engines than I’ve wanted to lately, but made me look like a hero just doing basic stuff. I swear the plugs on one boat had a 1/4” gap. And their 16 ft bay boat got swamped by a sport fisher hauling ass through there. Luckily I’ve drowned enough engines to know how to get the water out of them.
 
I'm not sure what bridges are messed up. Have ventured to town yet. I did see that the James City side of the downtown draw bridge had a washed out spot though.
 
Rain and wind are starting in Charlotte now. It is insane how many people are still on the road. I presume going to/from work but it looks like 2-3 times as many people as a normal weekend
