You going to use both the sway bars? Or you interested in saleing a set? Interested.

I am leaning towards running both.. just have not decided yet and will be a long time before I make that decision

Well finally got the passenger side floor finished..next is to start drivers side

WOW! That is a lot of work already in a very short amount of time. Thanks for all of the build threads Ken. I have read through every single one of them from start to finish (plenty of time to kill sitting in Afghanistan) and they are all very inspirational. Also, I am interested in anythihng you take off of your XJ... pm sent

well spent some time organizing garage and then decided to start cutting inner C off old axle to start the prep of new front axle

but ran out of oxygen for torch.. gonna fill that tomorrow

wow what a day..

had the day off so I figured hey why not work on the jeep.. well lets just say I should have stayed in bed :)

I had intentions of getting the entire drivers side floor pan done.

so I start cutting floor and fine TONS more rust then I ever thought so drivers side will need a lot more work then passenger did.. then while using torch I set evaporator can on fire.. flames 6 feet tall 1 foot wide.. I figure no biggy I will grab my extinguisher and put it out.. well I hit handle and damn it is empty and flames are getting bigger..

at this point all I can see is garage burning to the ground so I bolt out of garage to house grab hose and run like a fireman with hose over my shoulder and as soon as I hit the garage floor I am in full water spraying mood, spraying the entire tub. lets just say it was smoky as heck and everything was soaked..

as after all this I figure well I can still cut some more.. so I proceed to cut more and bam some how a slag bounces up my chest behind my full face shield and hits the corner of my eye/nose area and burns it.. GREAT.. so at this point it is now 12 noon so I just screw it and quit for the day.. went and run errands and visit friends..

oh well maybe the next time I am in garage it will be a little better

now on to some pics I took.. these were before fire and before I cut all the rust out

I feel your pain !!! Had many days that started off in similar fashion.. I have learned to keep plenty of beer on hand so 'when' that stuff happens, I can immediately start the recovery process.

damn I had a case in the fridge and forgot all about it :(

Guessing you get to chew your own arse over that one?
Wondering if one of your errands was for multiple replacements? :flipoff2:

the worst part was after I soaked everything in garage I realized I have 3 more in the damn XJ from race season nicely mounted just waiting to get used..

not a lot to talk about since focusing on other projects but I did get the front axle started

last night I put new tranny on back of engine, modified mount for dana 300 got engine and tranny pretty close to where I want them, now need to make mounts tonight..and then hang dana 300 on back of it all.

I may have missed it, but I went back through this thread. What motor are you using? I thought I read that you were going to use the motor from the XJ.

I love the build.

Switched to Chevy 95 350 with auto behind it and Dana 300

A few suggestions, though Im sure you are aware of them...

- to get it as low as possible, I suggest putting the front axle, tcase & driveshaft in place, or atleast a proper replica. This will allow you to shift the drivetrain around some to make sure everything clears
- also recommend putting another crossmember between the frame rails before sitting the drivetrain weight on them... might want to push them apart some. stock tcase mount might be a quick fix for this until your finalize tranny/tcase mounting

build is looking good.

well no pics.. i forgot to take them.

but made new motor mount plate for engine side and started mount from plate to frame should have that done tonight.. also got dana 300 new studs in and it is now ready to go on tranny.. tonight gonna work on setting front axle to make sure at full bump engine and everything clears and then try to get engine mounted and tranny mount in..
