I know this is a long shot, but might as well post up.

My group at the US Army Research Lab has positions open doing basic research work in the fields of biomedical engineering, neuroscience, and materials science, particularly in the areas of signal processing, instrument fabrication, and design & using new polymer materials, and well as neuroscience experimentation. Most work centers around EEG & other non-invasive electrophysiology.
Everything from BS to PhD+ level work.
We basically do crazy sci-fi stuff that may or may no actually pan out.
Super awesome place to work, and excellent opportunity to be involved in science that helps Soldier.
In Aberdeen, MD area, NE of Baltimore.
Still true. New grad looking for an interesting career, or something to do for a few years before grad school? ARL is perfect as a transitional resume/CV booster opportunity.

Yeah but do they want 3 years experience also. Every job listing I see involving my degree even if it is marked entry level requires 3 years of experience. Or some listings wanting a masters degree but pays less than I make as a public school custodian. Btw my degree is in Wildlife Biology.

Nope, we take folks for Research Fellowships right out of college, or even still in college. And we just hired a contractor through our engineering services firm that was fresh out of her BME BS program.
Of course these folks have *some* kind of related experience, like having done relevant lab work in college, done an internship somewhere, etc.
But, honestly, part of the point of the fellowships is that that becomes the prior experience for your future job.

That's my hope. We work in a world where all of the "outcomes" and clear benefit to society is a 10 year horizon at minimum, and often 15+. So everything is based on the long game. We recognize that the people we provide internships to as a young 20-something today may be coming back to work with us in 5-7 years after they are a brilliant scientist/engineer, or when they have become tired of the private sector rat race, or maybe much later when they're pursuing a Nobel Prize, or even may not come back as an employee, but can be a good collaborator, or just an ambassador of sorts who sends their employees or friends to us.

Plus, IMO since we're operating on people's tax money, we're beholden to the people to use our facilities to provide as many opportunities to other citizens as possible.

We are looking to hire very hard-working individuals especially honorably discharged Veterans to work in our N.C. warehouse. The job consists of 100% manual labor help make, mix, and pack the Solutions (some of the finished Solutions weigh an average of 70lbs and the guys in the warehouse have to be able to lift and stack pallets of the buckets). We need someone younger (in their 20-40?) to help with the bulk of manual work. They have to be available at least 25-30 hours a week minimum. Eden is 100% a team effort. Having a 'handy' background or general jack of all trade, construction, or mechanical, etc., type knowledge is a huge plus.

@UTfball68 where are these positions located....or in which granite quarry will people be driving to?

Rockwell, NC 28138, near Salisbury. If there's a particular role you're interested in, let me know...we usually don't leave admin/lab roles open long. Production/batching, I'll hire a good head whether we have an open spot or not.

A friend of mine from the Army (out now) is recently laid off from NCDOT. He is actively looking for work. He is smart and a strong worker with good family values. He sent me this message as to what he has done in his current field since leaving the service. “I run any heavy equipment have ran grading crew and have certifications for Roadway inspection in nc. Thanks brother”. He lives in the China Grove area and I don’t think relocation is really on the table?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will PM his direct contact info as I’m not gonna just hang his stuff out on the web. His name is Chris Rose.

China Grove is 15-20mins south of me. Looks like he’s overqualified and worth more than I’m paying or looking for, so I’d hesitate to direct hire...but I do use a half dozen different temp agencies I could route him through, if he just wants a paycheck in the interim. That way if he finds something more suiting in 100 days, or he’s not a good fit, no harm, no foul. Some of the agencies I use offer 401k and insurance. Probably be the $13-15 range...$1/hr premium for 2nd. Pretty standard production line work.

My company could use a Dump Truck driver, but he may be looking for more than that. And not an easy commute. One of our Main Grading Contractors, is always hiring! He probably start as Operator, & sounds like he could move up to Foreman, after proving himself. Again, location would be out of Mount Holly.

The Machine builder I work with is looking for someone proficient in Solid works. The basic job description will be taking his designs and translating them to solid works, no specific history in machine design required. Located in Treyburn Park in Durham NC.

They build everything from food filling machines to compact high volume machining centers. It is a good place to get introduced to a little bit of everything.

No idea on salary (I presume it will be based on your existing skill set), send me your info and I can pass it along. If you are into turning wrenches and making chips, I am sure you will fit right in, but that has never been a requirement....you can sit in your air conditioned office with your ear buds in of that is your jam.

Edit...position filled***Second shift plant manager up to $100k (DoE). I need a foundational talent that can build a team/crew from scratch. You'll report directly to my COO, but you will be the top official on second shift. I've let the shift atrophy down to about 10 heads due to a lack of leadership and talent, my intent is to be running a full second shift (80-100 heads) in 6-12 months. You'd also be a contributor to CapEx (doubling my budget for 2020) and expansion decisions (adding another 50,000 sq/ft). Hit my throughput standards and it's a pretty easy 40-50hr week. Beyond that, ensure PM's are being done and help continue the evolution from Mom & Pop to legitimate contender in the market space. We're a contract manufacturer of cosmetics, topicals, gels, balms, creams...and we're exploring expansion in to bag on valve aerosols. We're bound by the FDA, Health Canada and Australian/European agencies. This role specifically will be responsible for and/or have oversight of all batching/compounding, production/filling, pack out, warehouse and quality functions during the shift. If you're looking for more details please contact me directly, I'm starting interviews next week.
