Joys of boats

My boat and trailer weigh 3600#. It’s about time for new hubs(rust). How long would 3500# hubs work? I have an odd ball 4200lb oil bath hub now. Thinking about going to a standard type axle

If you're buying an axle, don't buy one rated for less than you already know you need.

You can get 3750 lb drop center axles (I assume you need a drop for the boat), and 5200 lb drop center as well. Torsion spindles or leaf springs?
Magic Tilt sells 6000lb drop center blanks if you want to weld your own spindles and have leafs instead of a torsion spindle setup. I did a quick browse at Eastern Trailer; I don't actually know these things off the top of my head.

Yep, I’ve played on lake Robinson before. It’s like taking a hot shower.
If you went Old Stage Coach Rd you were within about a block of my office/shop on 151.

Everything worked :)

......and I can add one of the two livewell pumps to the list. She dead, just noticed last night. Also need to rebuild/replace the livewell valve system and control cable.

I feel like over the last 15 years my boat has been a testament to the fact that you don't need nice shit to go out and have a f*n ball. Run the crap out of it every weekend. It will cost you far less to take a boat out then it will anything else. Bi-yearly taxes, insurance, however you wanna calculate it ...
Just remember, wherever you go, pick up after yourself and carry an extra bag to pick up behind the slack SOB that was there before you. This privilege as great as it is will not be around forever.

Where's that? That's some killer shoreline.
I'd have to kill you first. Show up at my house at 10 in the morning one Saturday and then I'll know you're serious enough to actually go.

It's like that.

Today just wasn’t my day, blew a tire a mile from the boat ramp and didn’t have a spare. Hour and a half each way to get one. Got on the lake and rode around a bit then started fishing, started getting into the good sized fish and realized the boat started taking on water.

Highlights of the trip.
Miranda caught a 19” brown and I caught a 17” rainbow

Your expression changing the tire is great!!!

Started the weekend at the lake about 45 minutes from here. Camped out over night, left and headed to the Congaree.
Did less than 10 miles on the lake. Burned ~2 gallons there. Ran atleast 50 miles on the Congaree and burned ~7 gallons.

Expense=
$35 in 93 octane gas/tcw3
$30 in the Yukon XL
$40 in beer/ice.
$20 in food.
~$125 for a three day hoorah stopping by every beach to take a swim, running into some friends from years past, shooting the shit, harassing the squatboaters and playing some country music the whole time.
I'll take it anyday.

Welp looks like I lost a rivet on the keel causing all the water to come in. Anyone ever replaced a rivet is on an aluminum boat from the outside?

Me and my son were on Congaree last night. But we didn't run no 50 miles. Put in at the stadium ran up to Gervais street bridge. They wouldnt leave the water alone and didn't feel like getting stranded up by the zoo, so we anchored off just below the bridge. No size but we must of hauled 50 stripers in and tossed back in 3 hours...then loaded up and headed home.

I need to learn that river better otherwise we are just beating a boat up

I'm guessing Lake Murray ...maybe lunch island area...

If you can find the hydrilla (sarcasm) a Carolina rig and a 10"zoom is pretty effective right now

I'd bet that shore line was a river. If you want to run rivers in SC @XJsavage is your man.... on a side note I heard there was a river rescue in Kershaw area this weekend.

I know there was a stroke/heart attack/ pass out on the Congaree Saturday night. They had 3 or 4 rescue boats out there....but the was COLA not Kershaw

What I saw was on the Watree as you cross it on I-20 IDK that what we saw was the same thin we read about though. Just saw a few boats at the island there that is mostly under water right now.

Kayaker flipped, hit his head. Turned into a 2 fire department water rescue.
