Well said my friend.
For the record sir,If that's the mutual feeling, putting obstacles at every trail entrance that is impassable for atv's and motorcycles will solve all the problems. Wonder if that goes for any truck tires coming off of the creek bridges. If your vehicle is too wide to stay on the bridge, you should stay off that trail.
My comment is to everyone no any group if you feel a trail is beyond your skill or your rig then stay off everything doesn't need a bypass
For the record sir,
I do not hate on any offroaders of any kind.
Full size, atv and side x sides, we are all in this together.
My comment was not directed at any group.
And def not you.
Jack pot! This is some of the items and direction the FS eants us to takeI think since its been made clear that we need to be getting the trails "up to standard" a big part of making a difference would be focus on silt traps and most importantly illegal bypasses. I think using natural barriers like logs and stuff along with a sign stating that this is not an approved bypass would help. Some people simply don't care, and it will take time to weed these people out, but I believe there is a larger number of people who do not know better.

Do all the trails have a club that maintains them? Where can I find more info on this program?
I haven't been to URE in years, but I have been part of a crew that fought with lawbreakers elsewhere. We are doing so with trespassers and poachers now in some areas up here in WNC.
One thing we have found to be very, very effective of simply taking pictures. Lawbreakers hate to be photographed, and if it becomes common knowledge that they will be photographed and those pictures handed over to law enforcement it drastically cuts down on what they do.
Big signs that say "Volunteers are patrolling and taking photographs of illegal activity, to include drinking and going off trail. These pictures will be turned over to law enforcement" coupled with some folks doing so won't eliminate the problem, but it will cut down on it. People do things now because they know there are no consequences.
And the great part is that it is something anyone can easily do on the trail, as most already have cameras.
i am all about helping to keep the trails clean and keeping them in good shape and doing what ever it taked to keep the trails open but if you send a bunch of people up there to take pictures of people with the intention of giveing them to the law that is really going to piss them off and i would be willing to bet it would result in quite a few fights and with the amount of people that cary guns up there i just feel like this is a very very bad idea i camp on the trails all the time and i am always picking up beer bottles and other trash left behind by others and it pisses me off but all it takes it one idiot with a camara and one drunk idiot with a gun and all the trails will be shut down forever
That wont work.... No phone signal. We could go one further and print thesr pics and have a wall of shame at the outpost!!Great idea!! Maybe we can get the Ranger's email address and those with smart phones can email the pics on the spot. Ranger can sit at the hunt camp and grab them when they leave.
agreed very stupid cant tell you how many times i have seen it there people do stupid things every day and if the camra guy had a gun that just means 2 people get shot im just stating the obvioius if your not the law dont try to inforse it just my 2 cents
