Lots of interesting news today

The plant will be built off Pea Ridge rd. south of US-1 and the traffic is terrible at rush hours from Raleigh to Sanford now. I'm sure traffic in the area around the plant will be hell for the peeps that live near the plant w 2 lane country roads. My brother lives about 5 miles from the plant.

This was a few hundred yards from being in my district.

Bad news  for the area.....

I honestly don't understand what the purpose of this kind of subsidized growth is? Our areas unemployment rate is almost nothing, we aren't short on jobs by any stretch. It's 100% government overreach IMHO.

Oh I'm sure they'll widen or make new roads... on everyone else's dime

yep, Where this kind of thing is needed economically is, say, Warren county where there isn't shit for employment and economy (aside from the lake tourism).
But of course, the catch 22 is that's also not appealing to the company as a place to run their operation or draw employees to.

Larger tax base. More tax money. Money = Power.

For sure its not about 'you'. They have never and never will care about 'you'

But people keep voting for it, so why not?!

Tale as old as time.

Ok,

No offense, but "legitimate sexual harassment that should be a fireable offense" strikes me as part of the issue.

I guess when you get your first vision of college from watching Animal House, you can't see witnessing a single sexual harassment comment as a fireable offense. It's something that should be addressed and corrected. There aren't too many things a professor could 'say' that should get them fired. Unless it's "give me $1000 and I'll give you an A" or "you will never pass my class due to your ethnicity or views"
This.
There isn't a clear definition of ___________ harassment. What some or most would write off to constructive criticism, others call brutal or hurtful. As long as the media and society pushes the carrot further away from the donkey, this will continue.

Well, just last week there was an article that ranked NC #1 for business. I think it was first or second paragraph praising a bipartisan effort to provide 1.2B in subsidies for a 2 B facility. 2 wings, 1 bird.

Point taken - my example was intended to be the equivalent of a prof grabbing himself a handful as a girl walked out of class. Something we'd all agree isn't good.
But the poll says 'IF THEY SAY SOMETHIG THAT IS OFFENSIVE'
'Grabbing a handful' is a far cry from saying something.
One will get you a smart ass reply; the other a physical response.

A lot of folks in the UK don’t have AC because of the mild climate. I bet they were sweating!
Some of my team is over there right now, in London. They say it's amazing how it has shut the city down. The trains are only running at partial schedule bc they don't have AC, and people are passing out on them, and [I don't get this one] they are concerned about overheating the tracks.
Few apartments have A/C. The buildings are designed for cold and rain, but not really with thought about creating shade and breeze etc bc it's just not normally a thing.

Plus the notion of Londoners in shorts is just laughable.

London is shit. That's all I have to add

I was there a week after the Olympics. I was shocked to see many more Muslims than English folk. Like really shocked

It's sad, Chatham co. is beautiful and now w all of the building the creeks, rivers, Jordan lake, Sharron Harris etc. are getting tons of runoff, silt, pollution from all of the building in the area from Durham, Apex, Holly springs etc. Soon they'll all be cesspools
