So no AI robot overlords anytime soon. Not sure if we should be happy or sad about that lol.

They key is to keep training them to be as dumb as us.

I've read this before (or another version of the story). Think about it a lot actually, what it would be like living like that.
Especially halfway through a really long hard week.

Same…but maybe not in Maine

Nope.
17 prior arrests
restraining orders
cuts off ankle monitor

He's figured out they won't do anything to him.
Being arrested is just a minor inconvenience

Why am I not driving big brown truck instead of tending a power plant?

UPS driver pay and benefits deal in US to be worth $170,000 a year, firm says
1 - Ironic how this will probably also feed into inflation, since shipping is so integral to our economy.
2 - I'm really curious what is wrapped into that "total benefit" cost. Keep in mind if insurance for a family is $2.5k a month, that's $30k. If there is matched 401k contribution, that could be another $20k. If there is a pension plan, that adds on top. so the "pay" may be $100k. AND - thats 5 years from now, not today. consider all wages should be 15% higher by then anyway.
Also I'm sure this is the absolute top rank, not the median guy - note start is still $21/hr, roughly $45k.

The pay should be around 100k with overtime. All drivers make the same pay once they are fully vested, I think it's 3 years, last I heard it was low or mid $40's per hour. There is no median guy with the union drivers, there is part time(holiday), new guy, and everyone over 3 years. At least that's how my local driver had explained it to me.

My ups and fedex guys both have AC in their trucks but because they are in and out so much they say it’s better to just leave the doors open and catch the breeze. Of course I’m more rural and not neighborhood stop and go so that may play a role 🤷🏼‍♂️

Not sure how I ended up down this rabbit hole, but I found this tidbit quite interesting...
"The flight was escorted by Italian Eurofighter and French Mirage fighter jets while traversing their respective airspaces. The Swiss Air Force did not respond because the incident occurred outside normal office hours, which are 08:00–12:00 and 13:30–17:00 Monday to Friday"
That's about the most European thing ever.
