Lots of interesting news today

I guess this thread is as good as any. At least it’s interesting news to me.

I’m stepping away from running a LEGO model facility, and starting a new position within Merlin Entertainments. Going forward, I’m moving into a Global Commercial/Customer Care position. I’ll b looking at 5 year plans for LEGO model content in all 35+ attractions globally and making sure they are all up to date.

Kinda kewl.
Congratulations!

Some of you may remember

All I heard was “I’m not gonna be posting pics of cool Lego builds anymore”.

to me this was the most interesting part of the news

What bothers me is that people don't seem to understand that anxiety is something that we all need. It's a stop gap to keep us from endangering ourselves. If you have no anxiety about stepping off a cliff without a parachute, that's a problem. You're better off learning how to manage your anxiety instead of erasing it.
I don't think any medical doctor, mental health researcher or scientist worth half their salt disagrees with this at all.
And I'm not saying that sometimes drugs aren't overperscribed - but debilitating levels of anxiety ar ea real problem for al ot of people, and treatments like this are reserved for the extreme cases.

I agree that we need some sort of anxiety like you said, its just when it becomes overwhelming and prevents you from doing things or doesn't allow you to enjoy the life that you do have.

It has to be safer than all the Benzo's that are over prescribed and abused.
especially if its a 1-time application.
Which is hard to believe, but maybe. its a totally different mechanism of action than typical meds.

people are dumb
That or hungry... Read that is was rare. If I'm starving and the option is about to be served I might indulge.....

A regular ol Snapping turtle kept in a tub a few days to clean out is delicious!

I hope this is not the start of the downfall of quality tools.
Starrett quality dropped a decade or two ago and is just riding a name anyway. I think way more than half their stuff is already made in China. These days the only quality options are old stuff, Japanese stuff, or German stuff.

I have also heard that Brown & Sharpe are leaving Rhode Island and moving to Canada. From an industry insider. Hopefully this doesn't become insider trading.....
