Hey look, an enlightened rich person
Marie Osmond reveals she won't leave her fortune to her children in her will - CNN
(with a commentary by another clueless rich person)
The fact that this is "news" in itself is telling
So here's an interesting point about this though.bill gates was one of the first to make that same statement. He is pushing other rich folks to do the same thing, and is having some success.
7 billionaires who won’t leave their fortunes to their kids
If nothing else, the social and business opportunities afforded by "my dad is Bill Gates" probably outweigh most intellectual merit or earnest hardwork that might occur. So here's an interesting point about this though.
We're talking about inheritance, presumably when a rich person kicks off an a reasonably old age.
By that point - their kids are grown up. Even their grandkids are likely to at least be teenagers.
So, unless they cut 'em off a really long time ago, chances are that their kids have already lived quite the nice life, and never had to struggle like the rest of us. It's hard to imagine any of these guys children were taking out student loans for college while daddy was a billionaire.

I had it pretty good as a kid, dirt bikes, nice clothes, free college etc. I left it all and moved away on my own at 19 and made my own way. I could have used the contacts and advantages my family would have provided but i was too stupid. That is one area where I'll give credence to those bleeding heart social experiments where you see kids/people of different socioeconomic backgrounds and they take a step forward if they received X benefit and again with Y benefit and again with Z benefit, so on and so forth. Growing up broke and first couple years out of school, I was just like, meh, f*ck it, work harder. After marrying my wife, whose grandmother was an original Food Lion investor...I see the trickle down. You hear folks of affluence say all the time that are trying to validate themselves 'my parents are rich, I'm not'. Ok Suzy, but I'm sure an allowance was nice, I'm sure not paying back $100k in student loans really helps cushion the bank/retirement accounts now. Even if it's not to that extent, family vacation, my wife's grandmother pays for rooms and most meals...so over a week that's easily $1500-2000 that's not coming out of my pocket for a vacation I would have probably gone on anyway. Continue with the trickle down, when my wife and I got married, I was planning on paying for everything, only thing that ended up coming out of my pocket were the three beach houses for the week. There are a ton of problems and stress that can be resolved with money, that people who have never been broke, just won't understand. After seeing my upbringing vs my wife's, my goal as a parent is to make sure my kids get every single advancement they can...I don't care if people think they don't work or have a silver spoon...I used to knock people for that too, until I realized what I was missing out on.
You can buy a printer that would do that for $300. And materials for about $40 max. There is a 3D printer in the county library here. Maybe i need to look into the fees to use it.

EDIT - looks like its already been temporarily shut down.
Not necessarily, can be easily modded to do PET, PC or even Nylon with good precision.Yeah, but it's going to be a ABS FDM printer, which puts out weak crap. Fancy glue gun with high void content..
Some nice light Saturday evening reading for you
Faster-Than-Light Speeds Could Be Why Gamma-Ray Bursts Seem to Go Backwards in Time
And here I am thinking, is 3 minutes the right amount of time before I flip this grilled cheese?
That's actually what I was sitting here contemplating while watching the Daytona Supercross. Some nice light Saturday evening reading for you
