I'll be honest, that might be taking it too far. I like hitting the auto-up or auto-down button, especially on the passenger rear when you gotta holla at dem bitches.
 

Machinists voted 59% in favor of the new contract, which includes 38% wage increases over four years and other improvements.

Boeing said machinist pay will average $119,309 at the end of this contract proposal. The first wage rise will be 13%. The contract also increases 401(k) contributions and a signing bonus of up to $12,000 or a combination of a $7,000 bonus and $5,000 401(k) deposit.

Just to play devil's advocate
this is an average, which is biased by high numbers (a few w/ big numbers pulls it way up)
What is the median?

What is the median for similar machinists today, multiplied by 5 years of inflation? What is the difference is level of specialization, skill, experience etc to be doing this job for an aerespace company like Boeing? I'm gonna guess they don't take just any ol' dude.

In other news... I'm no fan of unions, but I do like seeing specialized tradesmen getting paid well.

I just did some internet investigation and the cost of living out there in WA near Boeing is much more expensive than here. I didn't realize it was that bad.

So do they keep all that free money and incentives to hire 1,800 while laying off 1,000 others? Will they somehow get to still call this job creation? Maybe I should fire all my folks, rehire them and see if I can get one of those incentives packages for all the jobs I've created.
