Lots of interesting news today

Still trying to figure out why the majority of the nation thinks this is ok:

Those unaccountable SOBs are spending $2700 PER PERSON in the US, and significantly less than half of the citizens will get a $600 check. Quit throwing away money that you don't have and were never authorized to spend :flipoff:

I like this line,
"Schumer stressed Democrats would push for more relief in the new year. Their ability to approve another bill will be shaped by the two Georgia Senate runoffs on Jan. 5, which will determine whether the GOP keeps control of the chamber."

Why not just be blunt:
"If you want us to give you even more money, make sure Democrats win the GA seats."

Yeah, not everybody gets a check. The 900 billion isn't just for stimulus checks to people either.

There seems to be some misunderstanding about this "stimulus" bill.
They combined the "stimulus package" as part of the annual FY21 budget for the Fed governement.
So, all wrapped up within the same doc you have both the things intended for Rona Relief, and the "normal stuff" we spend money on - including foreign affairs.

Now we can discuss all day whether or not we should be spending money on this other stuff for various reasons... but it shouldn't be conflated with the "stimulus" thing.
(which clearly Congress IS doing, and the press is making worse)

FYI here is the bill
