If you hit it fast enough, I think you can make it!

my life sucks right now. Roads washed out all over and with them went the water mains. Trying to find our way around the wash outs to cut and plug the lines to get pressure back up. I want to say things are worse now than when Floyd rolled through in 99.

Just passed a convoy of bucket trucks in greensboro headed east on 40.
Gotta give credit to these guys. Rough job w/ some unfriendly hours, often at times when everybody else is miserable, they don't get enough credit for busting ass to making things better for the rest of us.
My hats off to you gentlemen and ladies.

I'll be there in the morning trying to figure out the damage to the plant. Water levels are supposed to rise 6' more in the Neuse.

6 more feet? holy fuckmonkey

Neuse is supposed to rise about 2' above what Floyd was. Should be a mess everywhere. :(

En route. Goldsboro folks let me know if you need anything.

Our powers been out since noon on sat. projected to be back on @ 11:45 am on 10-16 :kaioken:. Good news is, 2 large trees fell in the yard and the only damage was to the field fence.

Its crazy to think that I am 170 miles South of you guys and while we certainly had some rain Friday/Saturday we remain in drought condition My pond is still 18" below normal and 30" below full pond.

Yet my friends in the greater Raleigh area are flooded.

It's been making me think a lot lately about pre-telecom days and the effect on written history.

If we go back in time a few hundred years. It would be easy for the folks in Raleigh to think this was a "wet" year or flood season. Meanwhile in SC it's dry. But just a year ago we had historic floods. Now fast forward few years and we somehow meet. Was that 2015 or 2016. It easy in those terms to understand how historical dates had conflicts. At that is just a 170 miles. Now put a 0 on the end....

At work in Goldsboro, we were dewatering a pond the last several months... pumping at about 1100 gpm, it took us months to dewater the pond.l before we had to halt. Anyway, we pumped out 45 million gallons. As of yesterday, every single gallon had been returned via rain alone. This pond has a 20' tall dam all the way around it, so the only way water can rise is from rain falling into the pond, zero runoff. It's a 185 acre pond that had just 16 acres of water left in the deepest area. Water rose in that area by about 8' from rain alone.

Silly humans, fighting mother nature is futile! :D

Neuse River flooded entrance road to work. Supposed to come up a few more feet. Trying to decide if I wanted to drive through it. Ended up not. The road is high and swamp on both sides. The trees on either side are under about 15' of water with the road under about 2'. Didn't really want to miss the road and run off of the shoulder. :D

Hard to see but that's Wiggins Mill Reservoir and the dam in Wilson about 2pm today. Crazy amount of water flowing under 301! The water was just a couple feet under the road; it is usually 15-20 feet under the road!

My bro is stuck over there in the apartments by lowes guess it could be worse, but he's stuck with some college girls.

They're projecting Kinston to have water 13' higher than when Floyd came through. We're good down my way, surprisingly. People were mowing grass today. The water got blown out of here pretty fast.
