I'll be there for the Uwharrie Team. Hoping to leave the house at about 5 so I can be at the Outpost by 9. I'll have a passenger seat open if someone needs one. Going to bring a roll of 55gl trash bags from work so I'll have extra is we need them.

Wow front page! Fantastic!

Tomorrow is the big day fore the URE team! Everyone ready?? Please be sure to vote to let me know you're coming. I gotta place a call the FS to give an estimate by 5pm today.

Check it, we made front page on nc4x4.com! heheheh

Great, The paper tells people to goto to NC4x4.com for more info, So this will be a great help if they go to the site, I also contacted the local radio station, they do free public announcements, Going to see if they will announce it, Hopefully it will help people be aware of it.

Loaded & ready. See you in the morning.

All set here... Cummins is plugged in so it'll be nice and warm when we leave at o'dark thirty

Headed out thismorning after having to jump start my truck (need glow plugs) Thanks yotared. Went down the road 15 or so miles & my kid was throwing up in a coffee cup in the back seat. Had to go back home & nurse the kid.

sorry to miss this

Well I got half way down and my girlfriend called and ask me if I forgot anything. Long story short I left the four wheeler key and my helmet at the dang house after about five minuets of very bad words I headed back home at least I saw the BDB in the Cat Squire parade. Sorry I didn’t get to help out but maybe next time.

Sarah and I had a good time, it was nice to meet you guys... We look forward to wheeling with you in the spring! Sarah snapped a couple of pictures on the trails...
Here's our group

And for anyone doubting how cold it was...

Here's a few pics I snapped of the trash pile before we dumped it. This was only the trash from Dutch John, Falls Dam, and Partial Dickie Bell. Basically it was only trash from two of the groups we formed. I wasn't able to meet up with the other groups to take pictures of their trash. In the pile there was a plethora of beer cans and bottles, carpet, rig parts/trail carnage, a camp chair someone burned in a camp fire, and a freaking air mattress! Hopefully some of the other groups got some more pictures of what they did. Janet Becker was very pleased and very thankful for the work we did.

Not going to make the clean up guys sorry but this snow and ice has put a damper on everything. I am going to wait to see what it looks like in the AM if i think i can make it then I'll come on down maybe a little late. Hope i can make it.

I have had some inquires as to what the plan is since its raining, I plan on heading up at 9am, If its too bad than we will cut it short, but we can at least pick up the parking lot or so. It raining pretty good here (33 degrees) and I am only 10 mins from the trail head.

So we will see how it goes.

Rain rain go away, come again when I'm working and don't care!

I want to thank everyone that came out to URE yesterday and also those who had situations that prevented them from making it out. I know you would have been there. Everyone worked really hard and I'm sure lost their breath several times walking the hills. I know I sure did! I met so many people and had a great time! We got a kick out of one the rangers who came up to us at the double parking lot and said, "Guys you can't leave that trash there!" We had been stacking the trash from the parking lot near the loading ramp. He assumed we were unloading our trash there. lol Nope, those 4 bags were just from the double parking lot alone! MtnYJ's group were thanked for their efforts by ATVers and 4x4ers alike. I'm glad we got some exposure. The event was a great success and an awesome learning experience.

And for the record, open/open suburbans do great at URE. tlinker48's sub tore those trails up and he did every obstacle! This was his first time wheelin' at URE. I was very impressed with that beast! Oh, and he has earned the nickname "Sub". No, not because he drives a suburban, but because he launched it through the big puddle on rocky mtn loop as if it were a submarine! Ended up getting water in the distributor. 100 ft later he busted a bead as well. Everyone pitched in and got the tire back on the rim and inflated. I donated a tire valve and watched intently! heheh I still want my steak dinner for all the watching I did. Hard work!

I plan to do this again next year. I'm thinking a bi-annual cleanup event would be ideal. So look out for this in upcoming event posts! I have some ideas about how to better organize the event next year. (Yep, one of those includes me getting there on time! heheh) I encourage everyone to attend and bring all your friends next year!

Had a good time yesterday, bad hand and all. Thanks go out to Chris and Travis (aka) Sub. Will do it again anytime, it was amazing how trash was just in the double parking lot and behind the fence line. See ya'll in the spring.
