NC4x4 v4.0

The main RSS feed doesn't have thumbnails like the old one, just a list of topics. No biggie, but wondering if it's configurable. Overall, looking good!
 
Is chat gone?
 
I liked that the old software showed which forum the post was from when you were looking at new post.
 
I think on the old way, the stickies had a different background color, too. That helped them pop out.

Chat's coming back as soon as I can get to it.

Looked into the avatar thing some more... not sure WTF happened, looks like a side effect of the import process.
 
How do we multi-quote now?

I now see the pushpin for the stickies, but it's way over ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------> there.

In the new posts list, it shows the forum right under the thread title. The second line is the thread starter, date, and the forum name.

Hit reply on each post you want quoted. It'll bump you down to the quick reply box when you hit reply, but you can scroll back up and pick another post. I believe that's a bug, but not sure.

Heh... I'll tell you right now... if you guys had seen the smilies that came with the software, you'd have pitched a fit. :lol:

I just brought over all the old ones, but I can definitely add new ones or replace some of the ones we have with new/better versions. BUT.... I don't have new/better versions. If anybody has some that they'd like to use, let me know.
 
Hey, on the watched threads page "subscribed" stuff on the other version you used to be able to notice in a glance which threads had been recently updated by a color scheme reference or something. I mean all of my subscribed threads look the same. I even used tio archive info I might want by the subscriptions so I had a few. Now the old and new news looks the same? Any advice on how to use this version that effectively?

oh they are vaguely different fonts my bad............since I'm never on any other forum this stuff seems like fuel injected cross bread with a impulse drive off the enterprise.......were's the carburator? I need a tutor anyboby make house calls, I'll teach welding in exchange........
 
Yeah, I think unread stuff is bold, old stuff isn't. I'll see if I can do something to make those jump out a little more.

Also, there's a button up at the top that says "Watched Threads" that'll take you straight to the unread ones.

Or click on somebody's name, a popup will come up that has a button called "Start a Conversation"

If you click the mark forum read button from now on whats new will work just like new posts...only if you dont have time t go through them all they will stay unitl you clear them.

Shawn tried this breifly before and I loved it...then it went away. LOVE that feature back...now the new look going to take some time.
 
how do I change how many posts per page when viewing?

also is there a way to make the page numbers a little more bold at the bottom of posts?

Sorry, always trying to remember the difference between the actual RSS feed contents and what the RSS readers do with it... The thumbnails are actually what the reader does with image attachments in the feed - might be many attachments, but the readers tend to take the first one and use as a thumbnail. So... the only part of that you'd be able to address is that the feed itself doesn't have images anymore.

Funny thing is, the home page does, just not the forum pages.

On the watched threads, the only email notification option seems to be instant. Is there daily, weekly summaries available? And, if so, in those summaries are the post contents included? The instant seems to be just a link back to the forum (which is ok for instant I guess).
