Whipped up some cheap and easy rod holders for the trip. View attachment 252111

Make sure that rack is as tight as possible in the receiver. Any rocking is drastically amplified by ruts and bumps and can wreck havoc on anything in the rack, especially the rods. I've seen people run guy wires from each corner to the bumper to stabilize the rack. It helps a lot.

Hope you have plenty of fire extinguisher almost burnt a ranger to the ground out there one time

Well we made it with about 50 gallons of gas and 502 miles door to door. Now I know why my hillbilly ass has never been to the true outer banks. The house is great and already seen tons of Mustangs and the yard at the house looks about like a barnyard with horse poop. Had to drive thru a water hole about 3 1/2-4' deep to get to the driveway at the house. Going to be a great week!

You should think about the Ocracoke and cedar island ferry on your way home. It's worth going through there and may shave a couple hours and miles off your ride. We used to park at cedar island, load the boat up, and head across pamlico sound to Oak island and flounder fish/gig bout every year, this time of year.

I'll look into doing that. Thanks

Never had any problems with them on or off road. Hold air and balance very well and are tough as heck. I know they are illegal on the road but 99.9% of cops don't know what they are looking at.
I have three cross country runs on my Allied beadlocks with no issues. I check the torque once in a while but it doesnt take long at all.

Glad the beach is treating you well , we will be there at Thanksgiving. Have you gone up the Currituck Lighthouse yet?

Healthy breakfast this morning View attachment 254025

We went there after all the hype and everyone posting about "duck donuts" on the page of faces.....(I guess it's a status thing for some I dunno) and felt they were mediocre at best....more cakie than we like.

Came back...expressed "Meh" to our piers who think it's the best thing since shaved beaver, and were shunned.....I mean like we spoke ill of the queen to a brit kinda shunned.....went back a few years later, same experience: Not impressed.

I mean....maybe we're just boring, but even the BACON donut was kinda meh compared to a hometown hot-donuts-now Krispy Kreme o_O
