What scrapyard around Charleston are you finding all this stuff at? I've been to a few but the selection is always pretty bad

Brah, What amps you using to weld tube like that? If anything is ever downhill my puddle runs into my electrode and all hell breaks loose.

Looking good! I see a porter cable drill. My Craftsman charger bit the dust again. You have good luck with that one or are there others that are better?

Are you going to have down bars in the back corners tying into that tube? & a bar coming down from the center of the B-pillar harness bar?

Looks cool, was want to help make sure it doesnt wad up in the first wheel stand.

You ever need anything you go my number. Glad he is ok. Hopefully it will start to cool off soon.

The 6013 shines as a shallow penetration light gauge material rod....me I'm still not a huge fan. They have a place and I don't use it much.
Your build is perfect for this rod in places. I also have really enjoyed your Stick rod only purity......ok enough of that.

I like to run em in DCEN. More of its intended use. However DCEP works slightly better penetration. AC is also acceptable and leads to my response.

Lighter amperage in smaller DC rods create more arc blow. IE puddles goes where it wants to.

AC confuses this magnetic field. So if you run it in AC pick up some amps use the same technique.

DC usage either polarity do everything to combat arc blow. First clean. Second move ground clamp closer In some cases opposite the natural puddle flow. Third, and since your getting equal arc blow. What I call parting. Shorten the arc length. Short arc and as little work angle as feasible.

Sounds like I need to grab some 6013s next time I am at the welding supply store. 6010s are a bitty intense trying to weld tubing :D

Hell yeah. Thank you!
It's not a miracle cure, but a place I would start.
If I were single, maybe younger I'd have my kayak loaded and case headed your way. Those swamp adventure and old plantation treks are awesome.
If ever your up Mocksville way give us a heads up. Hunting creek and a family grave yard with multiple Civil War vets among 60 or so graves and a cold beer might make it worth a visit.

Slow down, watch your arc gap and travel angle. You know, stuff welding instructors say. For the arc blow I have found success with wrapping my lead around the material being welded a few times. You are one of the only guys I have ever seen do roll cage work with 7018, very nice, keep it going!

So I guess you did not get my text today......?

I love hammered rustoleum paint. Go to paint as far as most durable and looks good no matter how little prep was done.

On a side note how many pounds of electrodes do you think you have used up until this point? 25 lbs? 40 lbs?

@scotch737 Do you happen to remember what year pump this is?
Is that a factory Chevrolet fuel pump to feed the ls? If so I can give you the walbro upgrade replacement part number with the 255lpm high output pump I'm using. I found it on eBay for less than $150 iirc.

I've got a TJ pump assembly if I no longer need it you want it for parts or to run. Just needs a pump installed in it.

Thanks Marcus. Let me get a price locally on just the sending unit and compare the travel logistics.
10-4 Just let me know.

FWIW I paid 180ish dollars for a new pump/ sending unit at O'Reillys in Moab when my upgraded pump died on day 2 of the trip.
