I've been looking at those rocket stoves, post up a pic when you get one worked up. May be able to move a few on here. @C.Berry
will do! If I’m still at that job anyway. lol they decided to take 3 days off next week and two this week (Xmas is excused obviously, Xmas eve is just a day to work in my world) apparently my looks can pay bills...? I believe I heard the army is hiring tho, so they can take advantage of someone else’s diligence, Ive got some bigger fish to fry!! :D:usa:

I haven't towed anything that heavy yet with mine but I'm about to snag a Silverado in a few weeks anyways and pull the drivetrain from the Yukon, so I won't get a chance to try it.
That is a shortfall to the 03+ Yukons and burbans is the rear four link. The coiled rear rides like a dream but they hate carrying the weight especially with larger than stock tires. It's more the upper control arm brackets that mount way out on the frame that on full tuck with chew the tire sidewall out. Aside from that little glitch, those things in stock form will happily tow close to 9k.
After seeing that, I think I might even keep the 10 bolt just for resale purposes

Woke up to a Walmart buggy in my front yard. Walmart is 3.5 miles away. Someone had a hell of a walk or it fell of a trailer.

What's shitty is those buggies cost the stores than own them $500+ EACH. In some areas where theft or "long distance borrowing" is really bad, the store managers will put a bounty out for their return. I doubt they pay much, but I've personally seen private owned vehicles with trailers loaded with certain brand carts unloading them at storefront and handed a check.

Found these jewels while out looking for cruise control switches. Still haven't found any.View attachment 282991 View attachment 282992 View attachment 282993
I've seen several private junk yards, out in the country. Problem is finding someone to give permission to look around!

My local Belmont NC wally store, has a theft device on one wheel. Some kind of a brake, that locks down, if it gets a certain distance from the store. Haven't checked to see how many other Walmarts are doing this.

I know the area well. Lived in Black Mountain for about 13 years until moving toward S Asheville. I imagine today that same spot may be underwater. I was near Carrier Park earlier and Amboy was closed. The river sucked up several roads I traveled today.

Lived here a long time. Its amazing we never met. I bet we know some of the same people.

Epic rain and I'm sure those trails are mud. If it dries enough tomorrow I may hit Kitzuma Sunday morning .

I haven’t ridden Kitzuma in almost 8 years! Great trail. Also neat riding back up old 70 thinking about pre I40 days that I never saw...

I ride down that occasionally with the 7 yr old. There is an old civil war era homesite with some graves off that old road too. Once exploring I found a really old wagon wheel that was mostly rotted, I wonder how old it was.

This might be the last cool thing this 240k Yukon XL gets to do before I pull the drivetrain and scrap the body.
Road trips to nowhere are great, when you're fascinated by nothing.
