Random Thoughts.....

I can walk on both legs and today is the day I give thanks to those who made that possible. 9 years ago some taliban shithead thought he had my number. He shot me (through the upper left thigh and severed the femoral) and I came way to close to checking out but, I had my entire company with me that brought the wrath and he was wrong. What he didn’t understand is the stack of air assets, artillery, and mortars I had on the other end of the radio. Turns out it was he (and several of his homies) whose number had been called.

Glad you made it through it brother.

If we're being preferential, I'll take a 1000cc inline 4 with a reasonably quiet aftermarket pipe climbing from about 8-13k rpms...

Yup, Nothing like the sound of winding out a transverse 4 jap bike!

Except the sound of a V- twin RC51!
Or tiller....or duc.... The sound was burned into my memory early a very young age (8?) at Mid Ohio at an AMA superbike race. It stood out to my young ears as way different and awesome. I asked my dad why it sounded so much different and what was it. He explained Ducatis to me and the love affair with high revving twins was born.

Always thought that was the ugliest bike...but damn if a full exhaust didn't make that about the best sounding bike ever
Bottom end power that fell flat on its face in the upper revs. Had to shift much earlier to keep it pulling hard. The bottom end stock was stupid on wiskey throttle stop light wheel stands. No clutch needed just rotate the silly grip.

Always a Zuk man but a Duc twin is music.
