The Money Pit- Lockedup5's YJ on Tons-- Updated Phase Two 2016-- 6.0 swap!!!

I didn't work on the jeep any today but I did get it legal. It's insured but not tagged. I had to get one of those ten day permits to go get it inspected. So as far as I'm concerned I'm legal to drive it on the road for atleast a while. So when I got home I took her for a spin. Suprisingly to me it drove great. I didn't get to fast maybe 40 mph at the most. I was amazed it didn't wonder, pull, bounce, or anything. Everything worked great but I will have to get used to that detroit in the rear.
This evening Mason my 6 yr. old said he wanted to drive it so while we were cruising the field in 1st gear low range I just opened the door and jumped out. You should've seen the look on his face when I told him he better get in the driver seat and steer it. His eyes lit up and he had the biggest smile on his face the entire time. Now he wants me to pick him up at school tomorrow in it. We'll just see. I still don't have exhaust on it so it's loud but I bet his friends won't mind.

My second 10 gallon propane tank came in today so I did go pick it up.

I've got a decision to make maybe ya'll can help me.

Do I add them all together or do I burn them?

Bad thing is I'm not quite done.

Things I still need to buy:

-spare tire wheel (ordered)
-radio/speakers
-CB and antenna
-two more 3/4'' shackles for bumpers
-steel to build or retrofit my existing winch plate
-incab winch controller
-Metalwerx to build my shifter cover
-exhaust
-new hood accessories
-maybe a cooler for steering

That's all I can think of but I'm sure there is more

That stack needs way more Rides receipts .... lol looks good and you will be glad you spent the money and did it right the first time.

I finally got the jeep over to Larry's to get the exhaust done yesterday. I have to say he did an oustanding job getting that pipe in there the way he did. He had very little space to work with but he got it done. We ran true duals to generic Super 10 mufflers just right behind the skid plate then turned them down right past the muffler.
I'm very pleased w/ the job and the sound. It's got a deep rumble at idle and sounds great when I really get in it.

Also took it by Ol'Jeeps to see what he can do about building me a shifter cover. I think he's smoking over a few ideas and will be doing it next week. He's going to work his magic on some aluminum and build me a killer cover.

These are two guys I'm not afraid to let them work on my stuff. I'm kinda particular about who I get to work on my things.

It's not 100% complete but it is very wheelable and I can't stand it any more. I've got it loaded and ready to pull to URE in the morning to the Veterans ride. I figured URE would be a good place to break it in and check everything out good.
It will be hard for me to get to crazy at URE and that is a good thing. If all goes well I may just leave it loaded tomorrow evening and go wheel the Flats on Sunday if I can get someone to go with me but we'll see.

Wish me luck and I will report back on how it does on it's maiden voyage.

Might as well leave it till Thursday and go to harlan, play in the mud with us. ..

Sure wish I could. I think the wife would strangle me though since I went to URE today and the flats tomorrow. If I had my winch mount done I might would think about it a little more. Also Scott will have it atleast a day this week to do my shifter tunnel.

Looks even better in person and sounds great.

Thanks a lot and nice to meet you today.

Well the wheeling trip to URE really turned into a good social event at the first and second ledge of Daniel. Between everyone beating and banging and breaking and winching it took us about four hours to do daniel so thats the only trail we rode.. I didn't really get to beat on the ole jeep to much I decided to see if it would just crawl the ledges. It did it with ease. To top it off it crawled both ledges w/o me even touching the gas pedal which impressed me. I never thought it would do it.
All in all I'm am very, very pleased with it. I guess tomorrow I will really break it in up at the Flats. I'm sure I can find something up there that will cause me to get on the skinny pedal.:driver:

Money Pit is one awesome, well built rig! Kenneth does things right and he sure followed through on this build. Great color scheme, superb workmanship, design and detail make this a rig that can grace a magazine cover or tackle the toughest trails!

I got to look this baby over real good on Saturday. The guy behind the wheel looks proud... and he has every right to look that way.

Fine work my friend! :beer::beer::beer:

Thank all you guys for the kind words. It has been a long hard twenty couple months but it is almost completed the way I want it. But it is very wheelable the way it is and will take a pretty good beating I found out Sunday.
I did end up having an electrical problem this weekend. I had a smell I couldn't nail down until my battery died yesterday at the end of the day. Turns out it was my carging wire from my alternator. Hopefully I can get that all straightened out this evening so I can get it over to Ol'Jeeps so he can build my tunnel cover.
